Chapter 10
On a private island in the sea, Eric lay leisurely on a beach chair, watching Estelle in a bikini taking beautiful photos in the distance, his eyes full of indulgence.
When Estelle first arrived on the island, she was in extremely bad mood. Every night, she couldn’t sleep well and suffered from insomnia. She said. that as soon as she closed her eyes, she would dream of him and Calista holding hands with their child, standing still as a family of three, telling her to get lost.
Every time she dreamed of this, Estelle would wake up crying and throw herself into Eric’s arms for comfort.
Eric was always tender and sweet, not only did sweet words flow out of his mouth like water, but he also made many promises to her. He promised that as soon as Calista was born, they would get married. He promised to make Calista disappear forever from their world. He even promised to make sure that everyone who knew the truth would keep their mouths shut, never letting the child know that their biological mother had someone else!
He held Estelle in his arms and whispered “I love you, I will only love you” in her ear repeatedly.
With a touch of pity, he kissed away the tears of happiness or gratitude at the corner of her eye.
Finally, Estelle was coaxed back to her usual self, with a smile once again lighting up her face.
Thinking of Calista, Eric tapped his fingers on the phone interface a few times, and finally dialed her phone number.
He was not concerned about her as a person, but wanted to ask about the situation of the baby in her belly.
After all, back in the hospital, the doctor had gently reminded him that Calista’s health was very poor and she needed to maintain a good mood. Any slight carelessness could lead to a miscarriage.
Whether that child could be born successfully also determined whether he could eventually marry Estelle.
Eric was particularly concerned about the outcome that would determine the fate of the two of them.
Soon, the phone in his hand was dialed out by him.
“Beep beep beep…
After a long wait, there was a slight click on the other end of the phone, and Eric’s voice came out involuntarily
“How is the baby in your belly doing?”
His words were interrupted by a cold and merciless mechanical female voice before he could finish speaking.
“Sorry, the number you have dialed is currently unavailable…”
“Dong!”
Eric instantly hung up the phone, his gloomy face reflected on the dark
screen.
Calista followed him for two years. Her phone had to be on standby 24 hours a day, ready to answer his calls at any time and any place. The phone could not ring more than three times.
Whenever she didn’t answer the phone, not only would he torture her in
bed until she fainted, but her father’s medical expenses would also be cut in half.
For the past two years, Calista has not made a single mistake.
So Eric never expected that her courage would grow so much after she became pregnant.
His jawline was tight, his cheeks seemed to twitch slightly, and there was a dangerous glint in his eyes.
It seems that he spoiled her too much. How long has he been away from her that he doesn’t even dare to answer her calls?
So Eric sent Calista another text message.
Call me back within half an hour and explain why you didn’t answer my call, otherwise forget about your father’s medical expenses for this month.
The text had just been sent out when Estelle on the beach waved to him, asking him to come and take photos with her.
His lips curved into an indulgent smile, and he casually tossed his phone onto the nearby table before getting up and striding towards the woman in
the distance.
And just as he left, the phone, which was about to go black, lit up again for a moment. In front of the message Eric had just sent, there was now a bright red exclamation mark: “You have been blocked by the other party, the message cannot be sent.”
