Chapter 11
The music was blasting in the bar, under the dim colorful lights, countless bodies were swaying and dancing in the dance floor.
Shawn casually leaned against the bar, absentmindedly swaying the drink in his cup.
His brows furrowed slightly, but his gaze kept lingering on the phone call interface.
After hanging up the phone just now, Hannah surprisingly did not irrationally call back repeatedly, which is really
rare!
He knew that all the words she said to resolve grievances were lies and deceptions.
Although he thought so, the frequency of his fingertips tapping on the table increased significantly, and a hint of im- patience showed on his sharp face.
Suddenly, the phone on the side vibrated several times. The ringtone was not very noticeable among the loud music in the bar, but Shawn instantly caught it.
He deliberately waited for a while after the phone rang before answering it calmly.
“Hannah, I just said I’m not going back, I don’t want to see your so-called explanation. I will continue to torment you for the rest of your life, don’t you understand yet?”
“Are you trying to come up with some new tricks to deceive me again? I won’t believe you!”
When this was said, the police officer on the other end of the phone fell silent for a moment before tentatively speak- ing, “Mr. Adelson, are you Mrs. Hannah’s husband? Her body was found in the river near the Northside Bridge, and after investigation, it was discovered that she had late-stage stomach cancer. She knew she was not going to make it, so she jumped into the river to commit suicide. Please come to the Northside Police Station as soon as possible to claim the body.”
Boom!
Shawn was struck as if by lightning, a buzzing sound ringing in his ears, almost unable to believe what he had heard.
For a long time, he wandered in a daze, then he bit his tongue hard, and the strong taste of blood spread in his mouth.
He barely found his voice, which was trembling: “Who are you? Just because you say you’re a police officer, should I believe you?”
“How could Hannah have died? She just called me not long ago, are you joking?”
Shawn forcefully suppressed the panic in his heart and gave a disdainful laugh, pretending not to care.
“Oh, I see. Are you the actor Hannah hired to play a role? How much did she pay you to cooperate in the acting? Can

I offer you double to give up?”
The police officer furrowed his brow in disbelief, repeatedly checking his phone to confirm that he had not dialed the wrong number.
“Mr. Adelson, I really am a police officer, not pretending to deceive you. If Ms. Yanetta really had an accident, the body and her medical records cannot be fake. Come to the police station and you will see.”
“If you are not willing to come, then we will go and inform Ms. Yanetta’s parents first.”
After speaking, the police officer couldn’t be bothered to explain further and simply hung up the phone.
However, when the police called her parents, Noah and Jasmin, and told them the same information, they received al- most the same reaction.
Noah and Jasmin’s first reaction was also disbelief, with a very cold tone: “Hannah likes to fool around, so don’t fol- low her. Tell her that if she really died, we wouldn’t be sad for her, but rather we would celebrate!”
“She killed Brielle and James, what face does she have to deceive us into going to see her?”
Before the police could say anything else, Noah and Jasmin angrily hung up the phone.
The police officers couldn’t help but feel sorry as they looked at Hannah, who had no one to claim her.
She lay quietly on the ground, as if completely immersed in a deep sleep, with sunken cheeks and a deathly pale com- plexion.
Her body was so thin that it was heartbreaking, almost just a skeleton left, and her hair was also sparse and dull.
The whole person almost couldn’t see the former fresh and beautiful appearance, which made people sigh involuntari- ly.
