Chapter 15
I continued working. One day, I couldn’t take it anymore and staged a revolt.
I forced Mia to leave work.
Mia looked at my two big dark circles and eye bags and burst out laughing. She patted my shoulder.
“Hazel, you’re excellent.”
She said it seriously, and I suddenly remembered how she used to praise me when we were young.
I lowered my head and laughed for a while, then hugged her shoulder.
“My dear sister, I beg you, let me leave work earlier! Stop PUA–ing your subordinate. I’ve had enough coffee. Don’t give me any more stimulants.”

She sighed and patted my shoulder, “The project isn’t over yet. We both need to keep working hard.”
I gritted my teeth in frustration.
After another month of intense work, the biggest project was successfully submitted for acceptance. It was finally over, and it was also close to the end of the year.
Mia and I relaxed and started a life of going to work at 10 AM and leaving at 5 PM.
We lived lazily every day, buying groceries after work and cooking. Before, the housekeeper always cooked.
Now that we had free time, we started cooking ourselves.
Cooking alone is a chore, but cooking together is quite leisurely. After all, we’re not in a hurry.
After cooking, we set up a small table on the balcony. After dinner, we have two glasses of sparkling water mixed with sake.
This kind of life is the most comfortable.
The company is close to home. When we’re free, sometimes we’re too lazy to drive and just walk home.
But one day, as I was leaving the company, I ran into a drunk Caleb.
How many sorrows car one have in life? A drunk Caleb looks like a pig’s head.
I couldn’t be bothered to deal with him. Mia called Iris.
Iris came quickly. She smiled and greeted me.
“Senior, long time no see. When do you have time to come over for dinner? Ava has been mentioning you a lot lately!”
I laughed, “Iris, dear! This isn’t how you play the role of the other woman. Being the other woman is like a dog crawling onto the bed. You need to lie down with your tail tucked in. If you keep yapping, you won’t last long.”
Iris’s gaze turned venomous for a moment, “Senior is still so sharp–tongued. But what use is it, senior? What use is it for you to go crazy? No matter how hard you try, you couldn’t keep his heart, could you?”
“Iris, dear! I’ve already called you a dog. Do you think he could be anything good? I wouldn’t even want him to carry my shoes, it would dirty my feet. Lying at the company door would dirty the ground. Take your dog of a man and honestly get lost! One glance at you disgusts me for 800 years. If I see you again, I’ll get a stye in my eye.”
