Silence
It surrounded us like smoke. Suffocating me
I hugged him tighter hoping that he would respond but I got nothing, nothing but the suffocating silence.

“Please tell me you rejected him.”
Squeezing my eyes shut I clung tighter onto him. Praying to the moon goddess that he wouldn’t hate me.
“Fuck! No… no
this isn’t happening.” He hissed unwrapping my hold on him. Turning his back to me he pulled on his locks and let out a yell
“I’m sorry – please stop… I’m sorry!” Terled as his fists began to plummet the bookshelf causing all the books to buble down.
Rushing over to him I pulled his fist down and stood in front of him. Squirming with fear as his black eyes glared down into my own
“Please Caleb…” I whimpered keeping his gaze locked as I cautiously edged closer to him.
I had no idea what I was begging for
For him to calm down, not to hurt himself.
To forgive me.
To forgive Jacob.
Not to react me.
That he wouldn’t hate me for having these feelings.
Taking his fist into my hand I raised them to my lips and laid a small kiss on his healing cuts.
Tears of guilt began to haze my vision as he continued to stare at me.
How could I have these feelings for Jacob when I was blessed with my mate.
“Do you love him?” His hoarse voice cut through the silence making me wish for silence this time.
“I love you, Caleb you are my mate, my love, my everything I cried cupping his cheeks with the palm of my hands.
Standing on the tips of my toes 1 gave him a tear filled kiss, one which was not returned. Making a small sub echo through the trashed office.
“That wasn’t what I asked Ariana” Looking up I met his gaze. His eyes lost their anger and was instead replaced with dread and hurt.
Biting down on his lip he caressed my check giving me a small kiss before storming out of the office.
Snapping out of my daze I ran after him only to stop as someone wrapped their arms around my waist and held me back.
“What the hell, let me go!” I screamed thrashing against their hold only to be held tighter.
Turning around I faced Vince. Shaking his head he pulled me into his chest and held me as hiccups of tears coursed through my body…
“He’s going to leave me.” I mumbled into his chest.
“He wouldn’t Be’d be an idiot to leave you Rosita.” He chuckled kissing the top of my head,
Shaking my head I pulled away from his embrace. “I hurt him.”
“He hurt you” He scoffed crossing his arms as he glared at his feet.
“We aren’t children Vincent. We are adults! He and I have beautiful twins and a peck we have to look after. But how can we do that when we keep messing up and acting like stupid immature teens?” I shouted pulling on the ends of my hair.
“Hey stop doing that,” he ordered uncurling my fingers and holding my hand in his, “listen maybe you and Caleb aren’t meant to be.”

His chest rose and fell quickly as he tried to calm himself. 1, on the other hand felt like I couldn’t get a single breath in.
I was frozen in shock. As well as my wolf. We both knew he had hurt us plenty of times. But he was our mate. The moon goddess was never wrong.
But what about my father and my mother. Where had the moon goddess played in that?
“He’s my mate…” I breathed out.
“But would you love him if he wasn’t?”
“Mommy why are we leaving daddy’s house? I thought we were going to stay?” Joey pouted as he hauled his backpack into the car
Sighing I hoisted him onto his car seat making sure to securely the him in before kissing his forehead,
“I missed our house, don’t you? All your toys and games are there?” I smiled running my fingers through his hair that was beginning to curl.
Pursing his lips he shook his head.
“No mommy I like it here. So does Zoey! We have Auntie Quinn, Auntie Marina, Uncle Adrian, Maggie, Papa Jackson, and so many more friends. We love it here. We are coming back tomorrow right manmy?” He smiled up at me his face bright with joy
“Yes baby we will.” I smiled before nodding to one of the pack members to watch over him as I walked back in and walked over to where Zoey was sleeping.
“So you’re leaving?” Jumping at the scare 1 tumed and faced Adrian.
His arms were crossed and his eyes wouldn’t meet my own.
I could tell he was hurt. The way he tucked into himself. But I couldn’t tell anybody I had to get out of here.
“Only for tonight.” I shrugged grabbing Zoey’s bag of toys and putting it over my shoulder.
“Caleb isn’t going to like this. You and the twins going off by yourself. It isn’t safe.”
“Caleb has been gone for three days, he has not once checked in with me about his well being. And we are not going alone Adrian. I am taking a group of pack members. They will stay the night with us and watch over the territory. Lassured him. Walking over to him I wrapped my arms around him and gave him a hug
“Tell him that wherever he is I’m sorry for the other night. We just want him back.” Pulling back I have him a smile before wallding around the large couch to grab my baby. Only for Adrian to step in and grab her.
“Til carry her.” Nodding I lead us back to the car where Joey was talking to one of the youngest pack guards. Both were talking fast with wild hand gestures and a shimmer in their eyes.
A small laugh escaped my lips as the guard blushed and straightened up as he saw us
