Francis‘ eyes widened in disbelief as he said, “Mr. O’Connell, are you mistaken? Matthew is just a lowly husband of the Carney Family! He’s nothing but a cuckolded man! Even if he can fight, he could never be your match!“}
Andrew chimed in quickly, adding, “That’s right! Mr. O’Connell, you’re a powerful man. You don’t need to be polite to him! He’s worse than a dog! You can beat him, even kill him. It won’t matter to the Carney Family anyway!“”
Mr. Carney stepped forward, bowing slightly as he told Mr. O’Connell, “Mr. O’Connell, these young men are right. Matthew is nothing but an ant. His life and death are mine to decide. Please, go ahead!“”
Mrs. Carney shrieked in agreement, “Beat him to death! He dared to lay hands on my son! He has to die!“}
I glanced at Mr. O’Connell and smirked, asking Mr. O’Connell to respond, “Well? Go on, beat me to death.“@
Mr. O’Connell chuckled and waved a hand, saying in a respectful tone, “Mr. Jackson, if you say that again, I might just kill myself instead.“”
Then, he turned to Francis and the others. His eyes darkened as he looked at them angrily. So, the show began.
“Listen well, all of you! Mr. Matthew Jackson here is the true CEO behind the O’Connell Security Corporation!“} As soon as Mr. O’Connell announced that, the room erupted into chaos.
Immediately, panic spread like wildfire. Everyone in this room had ridiculed me at some point. Some of them found pleasure in humiliating me. If they saw me, they would throw insults just for fun. So, people could imagine the regrets on their faces after what Mr. O’Connell had just said.”
But did I care? Not in the slightest. I saw their insults as entertainment value, something they needed to make their dull lives more interesting. In return, I used them when necessary.”
It was all nothing but a fair trade. To me, dignity was a small price to pay for money. Money was always my priority.”
