After the Tenth Slap 19

Chapter 19

Ashley smirked sarcastically. She didn’t speak a word to Aaron during the entire flight, nor did they argue.

She remained perfectly calm.

Under her influence, Rui Rui stayed just as quiet and peaceful.

The villa’s interior had been restored to its original state, Nicole’s traces completely erased.

Ashley’s favorite fresh flowers filled the living room, while expensive luxury gift boxes piled at the center, creating a festive atmosphere.

“Go on, open it.” Aaron gently nudged his son and Ashley. “I’ll make dinner for you.”

In the days that followed, Aaron stopped going to the office completely.

He cooked every meal himself, no matter how difficult the dish, he did it all by himself.

He, who never wasted time watching movies, now figured out what Ashley and her son liked, and took them to the media room to watch films and eat popcorn.

Every night, he told bedtime stories to his son, and every morning, he dressed him and washed his face.

Every day, Ashley received a gift, and each one hit her preferences perfectly.

This level of effort only earned him one remark from her:

“So it turns out you aren’t incapable of romance or caring for others. You just couldn’t be bothered before.”

Aaron endured her sarcastic remarks and put in even more effort.

But when he found Ashley’s diary addressed to Bruce in the study, he completely broke down.

The diary started from the day he confiscated her phone, with thousands of words written daily.

She shared daily routines with him, boldly confessed missing him, reminisced about their sweet moments together…

Not just her, Nicole also kept a diary.

Addressed to Uncle Bruce.

Every single day, it’s Uncle Bruce, Uncle Bruce, Uncle Bruce…

Aaron slammed the diary shut in fury.

Chapter 19

Ashley leaned against the doorway, smirking:

“Can’t handle this much? How many days did you write for Nicole? I’ve only just begun?”

288 Vouchers

“All these years, you gave me a diary, I give you a diary. That’s fair, I never damaged your diary. Please stay away from mine.”

She shrugged again.

“After all, I’ve read your diary. You can read mine anytime.”

“Ashley!”

Aaron’s voice trembled. “Do you actually like Bruce, or are you using him to hurt me? Can you even tell the differ- ence?”

Ashley looked at him calmly, “I don’t play with people’s feelings. But I can’t stop my relationship with him from hurt- ing you.”

One month passed.

Aaron tried every way to warm those two cold hearts without any progress.

Ashley ate well, drank well, and slept well, while he lay awake every night.

He felt utterly cornered, unsure what else to try.

Several times, he threw a knife before Ashley, telling her to take all her hatred out on him.

Ashley said flatly, “I don’t want to go to jail, and I won’t scare Nicole. You never consider others, do you?”

That day, discovering Ashley exchanging letters with Bruce, Aaron frantically sealed off the entire villa-not even a mosquito could get through.

Ashley remained calm.

As if no matter how hard he tried, she’d always find a way to stay connected with Bruce,

That night, exhausted Aaron received a call from his assistant.

Mr. Miller, Nicole escaped during her medical parole.

Aaron stayed silent.

His assistant continued: “Police reported Nicole exhibited erratic behavior in custody-bursting into laughter or tears for no reason, clashing violently with inmates. She’s deemed a high-risk individual.”

“The authorities warn you to stay vigilant. She might… come for you.”
