I hung up the phone.
Once again opened the home surveillance feed.
After returning home, Adrian had received a package.
There was something in the package envelope, he glanced at it a few times, then suddenly slid down against the door as if losing all strength.
I didn’t know what he had seen, but the surveillance showed that he sat on the floor for a whole afternoon.
Until the 5:30 alarm went off, he jerked, slowly came to his senses, mechanically got up, and walked towards the kitchen.
Soon, the sound of chopping vegetables and cooking came from the kitchen.
Although what he saw made him feel like dying, as soon as 5:30 arrived, all his emotions had to give way to a more important matter.
That is – his wife was about to get off work and come home for dinner, he still had to cook.
I suddenly tightened my hand.
