Chapter 5
The police officer was already feeling that this case challenged his worldview. After hearing Layla’s words, he said directly, “Making baseless accusations against law enforcement is a crime. I can arrest you at any time. This concerns my reputation. I demand to go with you to another facility for testing, and the results must be made public.”
“No problem,” Layla became even more smug, letting out a cold laugh before turning to look at me. “Naomi, I never expected the staff member you bribed to still dare contradict me. He’s truly foolish. If you admit right now that you orchestrated this, I won’t hold him responsible. Otherwise, I will definitely sue him.”
Hearing her words, Carter standing nearby grew more confident. “Layla’s right. Even if you want to shirk responsibility, you should come up with a believable excuse, but you actually claimed this child is my father’s. My mother has been dead for so many Christmases, but my father never had relations with any other woman. Your lies are disgusting.”
Upon hearing this, Nathan, who stood behind him, froze and coughed several times. However, with everyone focused on Layla, no one except me noticed him.
Seeing Nathan’s comical expression, I couldn’t help but laugh out loud. “He never had relations with any other woman? That’s hilarious.”

Matthew looked puzzled. “Naomi, why are you laughing?”

Carter glared at me coldly, his expression terrible. “Naomi, have you gone crazy after hearing we want to redo the DNA test? I said my father never had relations with any other woman. Why are you laughing?”
Finally done laughing, I took out the photos the private investigator had given me earlier and handed them to Carter. After learning about Layla and Carter’s plan, I immediately hired a private investigator to look into them. However, the results shocked me.
I said, “These should be the evidence that your father ‘never had relations with any other woman.“”
Carter took the photos and flipped through them one by one, his expression gradually becoming grotesque. Finally, he turned around and looked angrily at Nathan. “Dad, what is this? Why have you been with so many women? Didn’t you say you’d only love Mom your entire life?”
Nathan hadn’t expected his prostitution activities to be discovered at this moment, so he hurriedly explained, “Carter, this must be fake. How could I have other women? I don’t know them.” As he spoke, he snatched the photos and tore them up violently.
Then he glared at me and said, “You’re such an evil woman.

First, you fabricated false results to deceive Layla, and now you’re using these pictures to drive a wedge between me and my son. You’re truly despicable!”
I smiled as I looked at Nathan and Carter. “You’ll soon find out whether I’m driving a wedge between you.” Then I turned to the police officer: “Hello, I want to report a crime. Nathan is involved in prostitution, and all the detailed evidence is here. Please arrest him immediately.” With that, I threw the rest of the evidence to the officer.
Hearing my words, the police officer who had escorted me earlier frowned deeply. He took the evidence and examined it carefully. His demeanor instantly became serious as he instructed his subordinate, “Detain Nathan immediately. He’s a repeat offender, and the evidence is conclusive. Take him away now.”
“This is impossible! How could you possibly find evidence? I was always extremely careful,” Nathan continued to argue. But the police didn’t listen to him, instead putting handcuffs on him and taking him away.
The reporters were completely stunned.
A male reporter said in shock, “This twist is terrifying. How could Nathan do such things?”
A female reporter agreed, “Since Nathan is a criminal, I now think his son Carter doesn’t seem like a good person either.

Could this family really be framing others?”
Another female reporter asked confusedly, “But what about the child in Layla’s womb? Did she really have relations with Nathan?”
