“Matias! Do you even realize what you’re saying?”
“I’m warning you, even if you’re my good brother, don’t joke like this. Irene is my life!“}
Matias scoffed, his disdain unmistakable.
“Clayton, I’ve never liked you.“>
“You keep saying she’s your life; how hypocritical. Do you even dare tell Irene what you’re doing right now?“> Of course, Clayton wouldn’t dare.§
Just last night, I still heard the sounds of him and Odessa through the thin walls of the next room.
He claimed to be on a business trip but was secretly fooling around with Odessa at the same guesthouse.}
What he didn’t anticipate was that while he and Odessa were causing an uproar, I was indulging in my own pleasures with Matias.} “Matias, you bastard!” Clayton’s enraged voice boomed through the phone.
“Tell me where you are! I’m coming to find you right now!“}]
Matias smirked provocatively, his tone dripping with mockery. “If you’ve got the guts, come on over.“>
Before the call ended, I could hear the distinct sound of Clayton smashing his phone in fury.”
From the next room, his curses echoed loudly. “Matias, you bastard!”
Odessa, startled by the sheer intensity of his anger, instinctively tried to calm him down.
“Clayton, don’t let this get to you. Maybe they’re just trying to provoke you, playing some game to make you jealous,” Odessa said with a sly smile, her eyes gleaming mischievously as she mentioned me.”
“Someone like Irene, that well–behaved little wife of yours? She’s probably at home waiting for you, not gallivanting with another man.“} Clayton’s fist collided with the wall, the sound echoing sharply. His face turned ghostly pale. “No, this can’t be happening!“} “My Irene’s phone has never been off before,” he muttered, pacing anxiously. “But it’s been three days… and it’s still off.“}
He suddenly shot to his feet, hastily pulling on his clothes. “I need to go back and check!”
Over six years of marriage, Clayton had always maintained the illusion of being the perfect, doting husband.§
Whenever he went on business trips, he’d call me daily without fail.
He avoided nightlife completely and was always quick to tell others, “My wife keeps a tight leash on me.”
But for three wild days, Odessa had turned his world upside down. With her suitcase full of sultry outfits and seductive charms, she’d ensnared him completely.
Clayton had fallen hard, utterly blinded by her spell. It wasn’t until the third day that panic set in.
Desperation clawed at him as he repeatedly dialed my number, his voice trembling. “Irene, answer the phone! I’m losing my mind!” Suddenly, a thought struck him. Frantically, he grabbed his phone and opened it. We bought a matching couple of phones.
Clayton’s fingers hovered over the screen, his breath hitching as he linked our locations.
“Irene, I’ll never lose you,” he murmured, his voice resolute. “With this, we can always see where the other is.”
His eyes gleamed with anticipation as he quickly checked my location. But the moment the result appeared, his face turned deathly pale. “How… how is this possible?“>
The phone slipped from his trembling hand as he collapsed onto the bed, his gaze fixed on the screen. The blinking dot showed my location nearly overlapping with his.
“How could Irene… be here too?”
“Could she already know?”
The idea made his blood run cold. Desperation clawed at him as he shook his head violently, forcing the thought away. “No… no, it has to be a coincidence!”
Meanwhile, after three days of indulgence, my legs were too weak to support me. Matias, ever patient, helped me dress with a tenderness that made my heart flutter
He chuckled softly, his lips brushing against mine between kisses as he pulled me into his arms.
“What’s so amusing? You look like a little fool.”
“I’m just happy.”
Matias rested his chin against my forehead, his breath warm against my skin. “You don’t understand it still feels like a dream. Irene, you finally looked at me.”
His words sent a warmth spreading through my chest, and I wrapped my arms around him, feeling a rare sense of peace.
“Honestly, the person I liked first was you.“}
“In college, but you were always so cold. They all said you liked men, so I…”
A rueful chuckle escaped him. “That’s my fault.”
“Irene, it’s all on me. I wasn’t brave enough back then, and I ended up missing you for all these years.”
He pulled me closer, his embrace filled with quiet regret.
Suddenly, the door burst open with a deafening crash.

His words sent a warmth spreading through my chest, and I wrapped my arms around him, feeling a rare sense of peace.}

“Irene, how could you do this to me?” he choked out, his voice brimming with betrayal.
But my gaze slid past him to Odessa, standing awkwardly behind him. A cold smile tugged at my lips.
“Clayton, maybe you should worry about yourself first. You can’t even manage to button your shirt properly. What right do you have to lecture me?”
