Vivienne turned around and saw a defiant young man approaching with a group of his rowdy friends. She recognized him instantly, Victor was the brother of Edmund and a devoted follower of Lillian. From the first day she was with Edmund, Victor had looked down on her, mocking her coldly.
After Lillian returned, he was the happiest, acting as a go–between for Lillian and Edmund.
Whenever Lillian had a headache or a minor ailment, Victor was the first to call Edmund to rush over. He had even told her more than once to step aside for Lillan.
Victor walked up to Vivienne, smirking. “A housewife not at home learning how to be a virtuous full–time wife, winning her husband’s heart, but out here making a scene? That’s hardly becoming of a devoted wife.
Vivienne was accomplished in both the living room and the kitchen, the epitome of grace and virtue.
Once Victor knew this, he sarcastically dubbed her “the housewife.”
Since then, everyone in Edmund’s circle had taken to calling her that.
Victor’s tone and demeanor were off–putting. Serena immediately frowned, and Vivienne’s face cooled.
Seeing their reaction, Victor didn’t hold back but instead whistled, looking at Vivienne with an exaggerated expression.
“Ugh, got upset, did you? Come on, what a housewife, can’t you take a joke?”
His friends egged him on.
“Yeah, yeah, Mr. Harrington’s wife should be more open–hearted. How can she be so petty? It’s embarrassing for Edmund!”
“And Victor’s not wrong; are you not the devoted housewife at home taking care of your husband and. child?”
“That’s right, you’re just a housewife. How can you compare to Lillian? She graduated from Avalon University!”
“Avalon University, ever heard of it? It’ll shock you–it’s one of the top five music schools in the world!”
Serena glanced at Vivienne.
“Lillian graduated from Avalon University? I’ve never heard of Lillian there!”
Victor sneered at Serena. “Well, if you haven’t heard, that’s your problem. Ignorance is bliss, sweetheart. You should get out more to expand your horizons.”
It was
their first meeting, and he was already nicknaming others.
Serena scowled. “Vivi, who is this person? So obnoxious Comes up uninvited, talking like he owns the place.

Vivienne responded coolly, “One of Lillian’s lapdogs. You can call him a bootlicker.”

“Oh, so he’s Lillian’s bootlicker!” Serena’s face cleared, understanding. “No wonder he’s so unpleasant. Got
Victor’s face went pale. Before he could speak, Vivienne gave him a slight smile. “Hey bootlicker, I was just joking. You’re not upset, are you?”
Serena had seen how they mocked Vivienne and was furning. Hearing Vivienne’s retort, she played along
“No way, a grown man can’t take a joke? That’s pretty weak. You’re the one embarrassing your gender!”
Vivienne went with the flow. “There, there, he’s not worldly; let’s not stoop to his level.”
The crowd reacted with mixed emotions, realizing these two women were turning the tables on them.
Serena laughed, “Bootlicker, bootlicker, in the end, all for nothing. Considering his sad state, I won’t lower myself to his level. Vivi, let’s go. I’ll show you some fun
Vivienne nodded and they turned to leave.
Victor watched them go, grinding his teeth, his face uger than if he’d swallowed something foul.
His friends looked at each other.
One friend chuckled awkwardly,
could he be a bootlicker? He’s women are really asking for it, calling Victor a bootlicker? How
His voice trailed off. Though harsh, their words were technically true. Victor did resemble a bootlicker…
Another friend quickly corrected, “Victor is clearly Lillian’s hero in the clutch!”
Everyone quickly agreed, “Yes, yes, a hero in the clutch!
Just then, a soft voice broke the awkward silence.
“Victor, what are you doing here, not going to the VIP room?”
Victor turned and saw a man and a woman approaching. The man was tall and distinguished, the woman petite and delicate.
Seeing them, Victor’s eyes lit up. He rushed over, exaggerating the story as he complained about Vivienne’s misdeeds.
“Eddy, Lillian, you know who I just saw? I saw Vivienne She was out at this kind of place, shamelessly saying she was out for fun! She must be too idle if she has time to come here and mess around. Didn’t she just make meals for Lillian? She should be making three meals a day! Eddy, you can’t let a woman who flouts the rules of decency like this get her
Lillian frowned slightly.
“Out for fun?” She turned to Edmund, concerned. “Eddy, it’s so late. Vivienne wouldn’t have left Theo alone at home and not gone back, would she?”

Hearing Vivienne’s name made Edmund frown deeper Lillian, observing his expression, whispered, “Eddy Theo isn’t well. Is it really okay for him to be alone at home?”
Edmund’s lips thinned, his expression clearly darkening
“Theo went back to Harrington Residence today.”
He had intended to use Theo to teach Vivienne a lesson to make her realize her mistakes.
He hadn’t expected her not to even come home. Lillian paused, then quickly understood Edmund’s intention.
“Eddy, Vivienne has been looking after you at home, always indoors, and that can be tiring… perhaps she just wanted to relax a bit.”
She lowered her head, blaming herself, “It’s my fault for not considering how taxing it has been for Vivienne to prepare those meals for so long. It’s only natural she wouldn’t want to continue…
Before she could finish, Victor angrily interrupted.
“What? Vivienne stopped making your medicinal meals If it weren’t for her pushing you into the water, your illness wouldn’t have gotten so bad! She just stopped caring? How dare she?”
Lillian quickly grabbed the irate Victor. “Victor, I’ve said it has nothing to do with Vivienne. I fell by accident…”
“Victor, you’re always so kind, defending that vile woman even after she hurt you like this?”
Victor looked at Edmund indignantly. “Eddy, are you just going to let her get away with this, treating Lillian like this?”
