She rubbed her eyes, wanting to make sure she wasn’t seeing things. Theo, noticing Kelly’s odd behavior, couldn’t help but ask, “Kelly, what’s wrong?”
Carefully, Kelly handed her phone to Edmund. “Mr. Harrington, this…”
Edmund looked down at the screen. Vivienne had left the group chat. Seeing this, his expression darkened further.
The next second, Edmund’s phone rang.
Lillian’s choked sobs came through from the other end Eddy, what do we do? Vivienne seems really
upset…
Edmund suddenly remembered the seldom times he’d seen Vivienne cry.
The only time had been when Vivienne pushed Lillian into the water, resulting in her being admitted to the ICU, and she stubbornly refused to admit her mistake.
To punish her, he had taken Theo to the Harrington residence and told Vivienne that if she didn’t apologize, she would never see Theo again.
At that time, Theo had a relapse, and his fever wouldn’t subside. Vivienne had followed them to the Harrington residence, but he had forbidden anyone from letting her in. That evening, a torrential rain started. Everyone was busy trying to reduce Theo’s fever, and they ended up forgetting Vivienne outside.
It was only after the butler couldn’t stand it anymore and reminded him that he remembered. A drenched Vivienne was brought inside.
That was the first time he saw Vivienne cry….
Lillian’s tearful voice interrupted his thoughts. I just say Vivienne leave the group. Eddy, let it be. If Vivienne doesn’t want to make the medicinal meals, we shouldn’t bother her…”
Oddly, a hint of irritation arose in Edmund’s heart.
He responded, “Alright.”
Lillian seemed surprised by Edmund’s reaction, and her sobs stopped suddenly.
Edmund spoke calmly. “Since the medicinal meals are good for your health, Iwill find someone to take care of your health and attend to your needs.”
Lillian reflexively objected, “Eddy, there’s no need for all that trouble…”
Jokingly, medicinal meals were not tasty at all. She hadn’t consumed any of the medicinal meals Vivienne had sent; instead, she had disposed of them all.
The menus she had been requesting were just to make Vivienne’s life difficult.
However, Edmund was unaware of her true intentions and stated decisively, “It’s settled then. I have other matters to attend to, so I’ll hang up now.”

Lillian stared at the disconnected phone. Special care for my needs… So, if I don’t eat the medicinal meals properly and these people report to Edmund, will my lies be exposed?
Lillian clenched her teeth in frustration. Damn Vivienne she must be scheming something!
With that thought, Lillian’s resentment toward Viviem deepened.
Meanwhile, Kelly, seeing that this thankless task was finally being thrown off, almost wanted to jump joy in celebration. As a wealthy housewife, cooking occasionally is supposed to be a way to bond and cultivate one’s temperament. Cooking every day… what is the difference between her and a maid? No wonder Mrs. Harrington is so upset that she quit.

After hanging up, Edmund said to Theo, who was beside him, “Sit down and eat, and then I’ll take you to kindergarten.”
Theo rubbed his eyes and obediently responded,
He had always been less healthy than other kids, and lately, the late nights were taking a toll on him. The father and son sat opposite each other, quietly eating breakfast.
Vivienne usually handled Theo’s daily care and schooling.
Edmund, busy with work, rarely interfered. Now, the two sat in silence, the atmosphere strangely tense.
Eating the breakfast Kelly made, Theo found everything off–taste. Vivienne had spoiled him with her cooking; he just couldn’t get used to Kelly’s food.
At that moment, Edmund’s crisp voice came from across the table. “Who taught you to say those things you said yesterday?”
Theo looked up blankly, meeting Edmund’s piercing gaze, which was too intense to look directly at. Before Theo could respond, Edmund’s cold, detached voice sounded again. “Did Vivienne teach you that?”
Theo wasn’t afraid of Vivienne, but he was always intimidated by his stern, aloof father. He couldn’t bring himself to meet Edmund’s eyes… No, it wasn’t Mom who taught me.”
However, to Edmund, Theo’s demeanor appeared no different from someone feeling guilty and afraid to admit it. Is this what she teaches the child when she’s at home?
He scoffed, “Since she can’t teach the child properly, it’s time she reflected on herself for a while.”
Then, looking at Theo, he said, “Theo, for now, you’ll go stay at the Harrington residence for a few days.”
Theo was about to say something but brightened at Edmund’s words. His aunt had told him about the time his mom pushed Lillian into the water and stubbornly refused to apologize.
Later, when Edmund sent him to the Harrington residence, Vivienne finally broke down and apologized tearfully to Edmund and Lillian. Maybe this time, staying at the Harrington residence, mom might apologize to Madam Lillian again.
Elsewhere, in another apartment, Serena watched Vivienne’s series of actions–leaving the group and blocking everyone–with wide eyes.

“Vivi, are you serious this time?”

After leaving the group and blocking Edmund and Lillan, Vivienne looked up. “Do I look like I’m joking?”
Serena sighed. “Last time after Lillian’s accident, you were determined not to back down. But then Theo got sick… I’m worried Edmund might use the child to manipulate you again
Women tend to soften for their children; otherwise, why is there a saying that men think having a child means they can control a woman?
Indeed, 80% of women experience manipulation after having a child.
Vivienne said lightly, “Don’t worry, not this time.”
Serena was still skeptical. “Really?”
Vivienne smiled. “Really, I thought I had given everything for Theo, that I was a wonderful mother. In reality, I was only convincing myself.”
“If that’s the case… Serena winked at her, flashing a mischievous smile. I’m treating tonight, and I’m going to make sure you have a good time.”
Serena, a perpetual single, loved going to bars and clubs. Vivienne kept refusing, “No, no…”
“What do you mean, no?” Serena interrupted, “Back in the day, you were the famed beauty of Avalon University. Do you know how many young talents you enchanted at the university gala with that dance performance?”
Serena pouted, “Vivi can play the violin, dance, and is gorgeous–the dream woman for many men, yet you married Edmund, who doesn’t appreciate you. There are plenty of good men in the world besides Edmund! Just come out with me to relax a bit.”
Unable to resist Serena’s persistent coaxing. Vivienne finally agreed.
At eight o’clock that evening. Vivienne and Serena entered a bar. It wasn’t the wild scene Vivienne had

Serena raised an eyebrow at her. “This bar just opened recently, and the handsome young men here are all top quality, guaranteed to make your night worthwhile
Since she was there, Vivienne dropped her pretenses and smiled, “Alright.”
Just then, a familiar voice came from behind, “Isn’t that Edmund’s little tag–along? What, looking for Edmund again here?”
