Chapter 60 Family Tensions
Theo pulled out his phone. “He took pictures of the meals my mom made for him, sent them to me ever day.”
Eleanor leaned over to look at the photos of the food and exclaimed, “Ah, those really are Vivienne’s pastries… Only Vivienne makes pastries in those shapes and designs.”
She flipped through more photos. “Isn’t this dish one of Vivienne’s specialties?”
“And this presentation style, it could only be Vivienne’s.”
“Ah! Isn’t this the special medicinal meal Vivienne tailored for Theo? You can’t buy this anywhere…”
With each comment from Eleanor, Theo’s eyes reddened more–filled with sadness, anger, and jealousy.
Talia interrupted Eleanor with a frown, “Enough of that. Theo, don’t worry, when your mother comes, Grandma will make sure she learns her lesson.”
Theo then rolled up his sleeve, revealing a bruised arm, the skin tinged blue from being pinched in secret “That bad kid has been bullying me at preschool. He hit me first, but when the teacher came, he acted like I had pushed him down… The teacher and the other kids blamed me, told me to apologize.”
Theo’s arm, delicate and tender, wasn’t badly hurt, but it looked shocking.
Tears nearly spilled from Talia’s eyes as she spoke angrily, “This is outrageous! Tomorrow, I’ll go with you, and I’ll take care of that bad kid…”
-Before she could finish, a servant hurried in.
“Madam Talia, Mr. Harrington has arrived with his wife.”
As they entered the living room, Vivienne unexpectedly saw Theo. When he noticed her gaze, he turned his head away with a scoff, his expression cooling into a distant mask.
He had an air of “I won’t bother with you, come and appease me.”
Vivienne casually shifted her gaze away.
“Bang!” Talia slammed her hand on the table.
The teacups and glasses on the table rattled from the impact.
Talia’s face was stern. “Vivienne, do you realize what you’ve done?”
Vivienne frowned slightly but didn’t speak.
In the past, she saw the Harrington family and Edmund through rose–colored glasses, often belittled by Talia, which over time even made her feel unworthy of the Harringtons.
She used to think of Talia as untouchable, high above her. Now, the aura shattered, the once regal Talia seemed just ordinary.
Edmund glanced at Vivienne and asked, “Mom, what happened?”

“You should ask your wonderful wife!” Talia’s anger was uncontainable as she lifted Theo’s sleeve, “Your wife has encouraged another child to bully her own son. Is this how a mother acts?”
“Edmund, I’m laying it out here–if Vivienne doesn’t earn Theo’s forgiveness, she’s never to set foot in the Harrington home again!”
Theo’s face lifted in pride, backed by Madam Talia. He knew Vivienne was scared of Talia and always listened to her. I won’t easily forgive my mom later, and I decide she must also apologize to Ms. Lillian.
Edmund’s brow furrowed as he observed the bruises on Theo’s arm.
“What exactly happened?”
Eleanor whispered, “Brother, Theo said there’s a kid named August in preschool who bullies him every day. These bruises are from that kid. Also…”
She glanced at Vivienne and lowered her voice, “Theo said Vivienne doesn’t come home anymore or look after him. Instead, she’s out making money taking care of someone else’s child.”
Talia shouted, “Has the Harrington family ever skimped on your food or drink? To abandon your own child for money, you’re a disgrace to the Harrington name!”
However, Vivienne, who usually took Talia’s scolding quietly, suddenly spoke up.
“I earn my own money, and there’s no shame in that. Besides, when I didn’t work, you called me a housewife living off a man. When I do work, you say I’m a disgrace. So should I work, or should I stay at home?”
Talia was taken aback but quickly retorted, “You dare talk back?”
Vivienne calmly responded, “Madam Talia, not everything you don’t want to hear is talking back.”
Talia grew even angrier. “Vivienne, you still dare to argue?”
Seeing this, Vivienne chose to remain silent. She had come here to get Serena released, not to argue. Edmund turned to Theo, “Theo, is everything you said true?”
