So, she devoted herself even more to Edmund, personally taking care of nearly everything related to him. From the doorway, Vivienne saw the blazer she had given Edmund, now stained.
“It’s my fault. I was careless and spilled the medicine on you… Take it off, and let me wash it clean for you?”
Standing outside, Vivienne couldn’t see their expressions.
Edmund was silent for a long while before he spoke three words. “No need.”
His voice was devoid of any anger, as calm as usual as if the stained item was just an ordinary jacket.
“I’ve noticed you wear this blazer often; you must really like it, right? Eddy, I dirtied it, so I must take responsibility. I’ll make sure it’s washed clean…”
Lillian’s voice suddenly changed, taking on a tearful tone.
“Eddy, do you dislike me now? Is that why you won’t let me take care of the blazer?”
“No.”
Lillian sobbed softly, “Really?”
“Yes.”
“Then… can I take the blazer to clean?”
The silence this time was much longer than before.
Finally, Edmund replied with one word. “Okay.”
Lillian finally broke into a smile. “Then I’ll return it to you once it’s clean.”
Not long after hanging up, Vivienne heard Edmund’s door opening and closing. Fearing an encounter with Edmund, she waited over half an hour.
Seeing that Edmund didn’t return, Vivienne walked downstairs.
Just reaching the ground floor, she saw two young nurses with a familiar blazer, discussing as they walked.
“Rich people are different, aren’t they? A dirty blazer, and they don’t even bother washing it, just throw it away.”
“Who do you think Edmund is? With his wealth, not just a blazer, he could throw away a whole outfit every day for hundreds of lifetimes.”
“This blazer looks high–quality, obviously not cheap. If Ms. Lillian hadn’t specifically instructed me to discard it, I would have taken it home.”
“Forget it. What the rich discard isn’t for us to use.”
They chatted and tossed the blazer into a trash bin.

Indeed, it was the gift she had given Edmund. Vivienne looked at the blazer in her hand, her knuckles turning white.
Knowing Matt had lied to her, Vivienne didn’t wait for more messages from Matt; she went straight to Harrington Corporation.
Upon entering, two receptionists stopped her.
One asked, “Miss, who are you looking for?”
Vivienne paused, “I’m here to see Edmund.”
Hearing Edmund’s name, the smiles on the receptionists‘ faces faded, and their looks turned strange.
“What do you need with Mr. Harrington?”
Vivienne glanced at the receptionist, “It’s very important.”
The other receptionist frowned, “Do you have an appointment?”
Of course, there was no appointment.
Vivienne, eager to see Edmund, declared, “I’m Mrs. Harrington, and I have an urgent matter with Edmund.”
The receptionists exchanged looks, “Sorry, we really don’t recognize you.”
They knew Edmund was married but had never seen the legendary “Mrs. Harrington.”
One receptionist suggested, “Mr. Harrington instructed us not to let anyone in without an appointment.”
“Miss, if you really are Mrs. Harrington, why not call Mr. Harrington… We’re just following the rules. If he allows it, then we can let you through.”
Vivienne reluctantly dialled Edmund’s number.
“Dial tone…”
The call went unanswered.
Soon, the call disconnected automatically due to the lack of response. The receptionists‘ looks became more disdainful and mocking, as if they were looking at something unclean.
One receptionist, eyeing Vivienne’s beautiful face, swept a jealous glance over her and spoke sarcastically.
“It’s absurd, the great Mrs. Harrington can’t even reach Mr. Harrington… Who are you kidding? How can just anyone expect to see Mr. Harrington… How low can a side piece sink?”
