Dante grinned. “Sure am. Thanks to you, Mr. Harrington, for letting me meet someone as great as Vivi.”
Vivienne glanced at him.
Edmund’s gaze darkened. “Do you mean… both of you’ve only just met?”
“Yep, thanks to you,” Dante said smoothly. “If you hadn’t ignored your wife’s struggles so often, enough to make even a stranger like me step in, Vivi and I… wouldn’t be such good friends.”
His smile was warm, but his words stung, slamming Edmund for letting Vivienne face online hate and harassment alone.
Lillian felt the heat and jumped in. “Let’s order, the food here takes a while. We can talk over it.” Dante eased off, summoning the waiter. Edmund scanned the menu and ordered a few dishes.
“Mr. Harrington, are you eating all that yourself?” Dante teased.
Lillian blushed. “Eddy ordered for me too.”
Dante’s look turned knowing. To Vivienne, he asked, “Still want mango juice, Vivi?”
“Yeah,” she nodded.
Vivienne thought, I hadn’t had it in ages.
Edmund who was beside her, turned to her. “You like mango juice?”
Before she could answer, Dante gasped. “Mr. Harrington, you’re her husband and you don’t even know that?”
Vivienne’s fingers curled, her lips sealed.
She adored mangoes and their juice.
Once, she’d made some mango juice for dinner, but Edmund found it odd and disliked it. She’d stopped
ever since.
Lillian murmured, “Sorry, I’m allergic to mangoes… Eddy’s avoided them for years because of me.”
Dante smiled. “You know Ms. Lillian’s favorites, Mr. Harrington. As Vivi’s husband, surely you know what your wife likes too?”
Edmund paused, then ordered a few dishes for Vivienne in his low, smooth voice.
Dante frowned. “You sure… those are for her, not you?”
Edmund looked at Vivienne, who stared ahead, ignoring him.
Dante’s tone grew pointed. “Vivi loves spicy food, can’t eat without it. She hates seafood, raw stuff, and fish.” He smiled faintly. “Every dish you picked is something she doesn’t like.”
A bland raw dish, a seafood plate, and a fish course, spot–on misses.

Even the waiter shot Edmund a look. Forgettin
mortifying.
The waiter coughed. “Sir, keep these dishes?”

“No,” Dante said, ordering three spicy ones instead. Th
waiter jotted it down and fled.
Lillian, sensing Edmund’s silence, spoke up. “Eddy rarely eats at home, so it’s natural he wouldn’t know Ms. Everest’s preferences.”
Vivienne smirked inwardly. Wasn’t that a jab, implying he dined with Lillian instead? If he cared, he’d have figured it out anyway. He just didn’t.
Dante nodded. “True. Vivi used to cater to her husband and son, sidelining herself, so much that everyone else did too. Now it’s her turn to choose.”
