Vivienne stared at him in surprise. “If you think money doesn’t matter, why don’t you freeze your o accounts and try living without it? See for yourself just how unimportant it really is. Besides, if I’m n after your money, then tell me, what exactly do you think I want? You? The man who sneaks out in t middle of the night for another woman? The man who treats me like a housekeeper, making medici meals for his first love? The man who, when I need help, asks if I was the one at fault? Or the man wh when my life was on the line, hung up my call and walked away with another woman in his arms?”
Vivienne looked at Edmund. “But even if I were after your money, it doesn’t seem like I’ve gained any it?”
When Lillian returned, she moved into Swinford’s most luxurious oceanfront villa, a property worth of millions.
Edmund had bought it without hesitation and transferred it directly into her name.
Meanwhile, Vivienne moved out of the Harrington Residence, only to end up renting an apartment. Five years as Mrs. Harrington couldn’t compare to a first love who had only been back for half a year. There was nothing more ironic than this. Her title as Mrs. Harrington had been nothing but a joke. Edmund frowned. “Lillian doesn’t have much time left. Why must you keep comparing yourself to someone who’s dying?”
“Dying?” Vivienne let out a half–smile. “Are you sure she’s really dying?”
Edmund immediately caught the implication in her words. His gaze turned cold. “What are you trying t -say?”
“Edmund, do you want to make a bet?” Vivienne chuckled. “Let’s bet on whether Lillian will actually die i six months.”
She had been thinking about this for a while. Lillian was a habitual liar and a master of deception. Her so called terminal illness might not even be real.
Aside from frequently fainting, she showed no signs of being gravely ill. Besides, a dying person shouldn‘ have the energy to scheme against others all day.
Edmund’s voice was icy. “This is pointless.”
“What? Are you afraid?”
Edmund’s face remained impassive. “Medical technology is advanced now, and Victor is actively seeking top specialists for Lillian. Her illness might still be treatable.”
Vivienne had no idea what kind of spell Lillian had cast on Edmund to make him trust her so blindly.
Edmund seemed unwilling to continue the conversation. “What’s your second condition?”
Vivienne met his gaze and enunciated each word clearly. “Edmund, I want a divorce.”

Something seemed to cross his mind, and his expression turned colder, filled with irritation. “Where did you learn these cheap tricks?”
Vivienne looked at him. “Edmund, do you still think I’m playing games with you?”
Edmund’s deep gaze locked onto her face. “You love me, don’t you?”
Vivienne froze for a second before realizing what he meant. “You went through my diary?”
A flicker of hesitation flashed in Edmund’s eyes. “Theo returned the wrong notebook. I saw it when he gave it back to me.”
Vivienne had a habit of keeping a diary. That notebook contained the five years of their marriage.
Before Lillian returned, Edmund had treated her decently.
Young, handsome, and powerful–falling for him wasn’t difficult. After all, he was her husband.
But now, hearing it from Edmund, one thought crossed Vivienne’s mind.
Those who are favored always act without fear.
He was certain that, because they had a child together and she had feelings for him, he could do as he pleased without consequence,
Just then, Edmund’s phone rang.
It was his assistant, Henry,
“Mr. Harrington, something’s wrong!”
Edmund frowned. “What happened? Why are you panicking?”
“A flood of videos targeting Ms. Lillian has surfaced online. We can’t suppress them…”
Edmund’s voice turned frigid. “Didn’t I order a complete media blackout on everything from the press conference, including videos and livestreams?”
Henry’s voice trembled. “The press conference itself has been locked down completely. Nothing from the event has leaked. But the source of these videos is not from the venue.”
Edmund’s tone grew even colder. “Then where are they from? Stop stalling.”
“These videos are being broadcast on every major digital billboard in the city. We can’t take them down fast enough.”
Henry was on the verge of tears. “And it’s not just videos of Ms. Lillian… Mr. Harrington, there are also videos of you”
