“To marry into wealth, you shamelessly climbed into someone’s bed by any means necessary! How do you still have the audacity to live in this world?”
“I hate vain women like you the most. Even if you die, you deserve it!”
“If the law can’t hold you accountable, we will! Today, we bring justice and deliver the punishment you deserve!”
A group of people surrounded Vivienne, shoving and cursing at her relentlessly. Someone even pushed her to the ground.
At that moment, a hospital security guard noticed the commotion and rushed over to disperse the crowd.
“What do you think you’re doing? Get away from the hospital right now!”
Seeing the guards approach, the group didn’t linger and quickly ran off.
Vivienne was about to get up when a pair of polished black leather shoes entered her view.
Instinctively, she lifted her head. Through her blurred vision, she saw a strikingly handsome yet cold face.
The man looked down at her, his dark, bottomless eyes reflecting her disheveled state.
Edmund’s voice was calm and indifferent. “I’ve already spoken to Lillian. She won’t pursue the accident, but you need to publicly apologize to her.”
Vivienne closed her eyes for a moment, taking several deep breaths to steady herself.
She propped herself up, trying to sit up from the ground.
However, her body was weak. No matter how hard she struggled, she couldn’t get up.
How pathetic.
She always seemed to be in such a wretched state in front of Edmund.
At that moment, Vivienne suddenly had the urge to laugh.
Her lips curved slightly, but for some reason, her eyes reddened first.
Edmund’s gaze darkened as he looked at her pale and fragile figure.
His thin lips pressed together, and he stepped forward, about to lift Vivienne up..
However, just as he reached for her, a slender hand extended in front of him, one step ahead.
“Vivi, are you okay?”
Vivienne looked up and saw a strikingly handsome yet rebellious face.
Her throat felt blocked, a mix of bitterness and soreness rising within her, “Mr. Sinclair.”

Dante helped her up. “Sorry, I’ve been busy these past few days and forgot you were being discharged.”
Vivienne’s voice was hoarse. “I would rather not trouble you, so I didn’t tell you.”
Dante glanced at the wound on her foot. “You’re hurt. Let’s go back to the hospital for a check–up.”
“No need. It’s just a minor scrape. A simple bandage will do.”
“No.” Dante’s expression turned uncharacteristically serious. “You need a proper check–up,”
Seeing how firm he was, Vivienne finally nodded.
“Alright.”
Dante supported her as they walked toward the hospital.
Just then, a hand gripped Vivienne’s wrist.
Edmund’s expression was ice–cold, and his voice was just as frigid.
“There’s no need to trouble you, Mr. Sinclair. I’ll take Vivienne to the hospital myself.”
Dante didn’t let go immediately. Instead, he raised an eyebrow, feigning surprise.
“Mr. Harrington, do you want to take Vivi to the hospital? But just now, when she fell to the ground, you didn’t seem too eager to help her up.”
Edmund’s face darkened instantly.
Before he could respond, a joyful voice suddenly rang out.
“Eddy, you’re here!”
A delicate figure rushed over, throwing herself into Edmund’s arms without hesitation.
“Eddy, did you come to pick me up because you knew I was getting discharged today?!” Lillian’s voice was filled with delight, her bright eyes shimmering with endless affection.
Her face radiated happiness. “Eddy, I told you, if you’re too busy, you don’t have to come.”
The handsome man and beautiful woman embracing each other looked like a perfect match.
Vivienne watched blankly, feeling as if an invisible hand was strangling her throat, making it hard to breathe.
So Edmund had come to the hospital for Lillian.
And along the way, he got to enjoy watching her humiliation.
Edmund’s brows furrowed slightly, and he gently pushed Lillian away.
“Lillian…” He was about to say something when he noticed that Dante was already leading Vivienne away.
Edmund’s gaze turned icy, and he was about to go after them when Lillian suddenly clung to his arm. 2/4

“Eddy, this morning, more eyewitnesses contacted me. They said they’re willing to testify.”
Edmund’s eyes flickered, “Testify?”

“Yes, Didn’t Ms. Everest refuse to admit she hit me? With these new witnesses, she won’t be able to deny it.”
Lillian’s voice resonated with the gentleness of the wind “Eddy, don’t worry. Ms. Everest is your wife, so I won’t make things difficult for her. Besides, I wasn’t seriously injured, so I won’t press charges. All I want is an apology. Right now, the online rumors aren’t in Ms Everest’s favor. This could be her chance to clear things up and restore her reputation. When the time comes, I’ll cooperate with Ms. Everest and say the crash was just an accident and that she didn’t do it on purpose. That should settle everything.”
Lillian smiled gently, her words seemingly full of consideration for Vivienne.
She didn’t even mention her injuries or grievances, appearing utterly understanding.
Edmund’s gaze softened slightly. He said in a low voice. “If only Vivienne were half as sensible as you.”
Lillian chuckled. “It’s okay. Maybe she’s just confused for now. She’ll come around eventually”
That night, several people claiming to be eyewitnesses posted videos online, recounting what they had
seen.
“I had just gotten off work and happened to be passing by when I saw Ms. Everest’s car suddenly speed up and crash straight into Ms. Lillian’s car. She didn’t slow down at all. It truly terrified me! At first, I thought she mistook the gas pedal for the brake, but then I realized she didn’t even try to steer away. It was deliberate. Many people saw it, not just me.”
As one witness spoke up, more followed, all confirming the same thing.
They all agreed that Vivienne’s actions were too extreme and urged her to come forward and apologize.
As the media frenzy started to die down, just when everyone thought Vivienne would remain silent, she suddenly made an announcement.
She was holding a press conference.
Everyone immediately assumed she had finally caved under the pressure and was preparing to apologize.
The internet erupted with excitement, buzzing as if it were a festival.
Those who had condemned Vivienne felt a sense of triumph, believing their efforts had finally brought justice.
On the day of the press conference, the venue was packed.
Vivienne hadn’t invited any specific media outlets. Anyone could attend, so the place was overflowing.
Dante glanced at the dense crowd below the stage.
