In the private room, Victor was animatedly speaking to Matt and Lillian. “I told you, how could she have the time to hang out with male escorts today without taking your herbal medicine! Lillian, just wait and see. Eddy will not spare that housewife.”
Lillian was about to say something when the door to the room was pushed open.
Edmund entered with an expressionless face. He was always good at hiding his emotions, making it hard to read anything from his face.
However, for some reason, Lillian felt that Edmund was in a bad mood. She asked softly, “Eddy, has Ms. Everest calmed down? She must have gone back to take care of Theo, right?”
Edmund’s lips were tightly pressed. “No.”
Lillian’s eyes widened in disbelief. “Ms. Everest isn’t even taking care of Theo anymore?”
She bit her lip as if making up her mind and then suggested to Edmund, “Eddy, maybe… I should apologize to Ms. Everest? Theo is still young; he can’t be without his mother’s care. No matter how frustrated we adults get, it shouldn’t affect the kids. The is innocent.”
Victor rolled his eyes at her words.
“Who doesn’t know what she’s really up to? She’s just using Theo to blackmail Eddy! This woman is truly ruthless, using her child like that–a disgrace to all women!”
Matt interrupted Victor, “Victor, cut it out.”
“Am I wrong?” Victor didn’t hold back. “Look at what Vivienne is up to! She’s married with a kid that age, yet she’s out at bars looking for male escorts! Isn’t that cheating? No wonder Theo is growing to dislike her. What kind of mother acts like this? Eddy has been too good to Vivienne, spoiling her! All she does is lounge around at home as a housewife, spending Eddy money, wanting whatever she desires and still not satisfied! Now, she wants Eddy’s money to support some men!”
Hearing this, Victor looked at Edmund.
“Eddy, the best way to handle a woman like her is to freeze her cards and see if she can still be so defiant. I assure you, in just three days, she will return with an apology!”
Vivienne’s mood was ruined after encountering Edmund and Lillian. As she was abour to head back, her phone vibrated.
She took it out and saw an alert that her supplementary card had been frozen. It only took a second for Vivienne to realize what had happened.
Edmund had frozen her cards. Over the years, she had been taking care of Theo at home without any income, and all her expenses were charged to Edmunds supplementary card.
Of course, before getting married, Vivienne had her savings.
Though not a small amount, it was insignificant to the wealthy Harrington family.

Vivienne wasn’t pretentious about using Edmund’s money. Since she managed the home and Edmund was the breadwinner, spending his money was not an issue
Seeing the message on the screen, Vivienne scoffed inwardly. It looks like Edmund is starting to tighten the
SETERUS on me.
As she checked her phone, she headed back to the private room. Just then, someone suddenly bumped into her leg.
Vivienne instinctively looked down and saw a five- or six–year–old boy. He was strikingly beautiful, with delicate features and eyes like black gems soaked in water, clear and bright. However, his complexion was unusually pale.
Having studied traditional medicine for so long, Vivienne recognized at a glance that the boy was weak with deficient qi and a cold spleen, likely a child prone to illness.
The boy suddenly said, “You bumped into me. You have to take responsibility.”
Vivienne paused, then crouched down to look him in the eyes.
“Little guy, are you feeling unwell?”
The boy looked down and didn’t speak. Vivienne looked around and didn’t see any guardians, so she asked gently, “What’s your name, little guy? Where are your parents?”
The boy looked up at her and repeated, “You bumped into me. You have to take responsibility.”
Vivienne asked, trying to gauge his needs, “Do you want me to take you to the hospital?”
After a few seconds, the boy nodded slightly.
“Do we need to notify your parents first?”
The boy, without hesitation, shook his head vigorously, his reluctance clear.
Vivienne frowned slightly, wondering if the child might be abused at home, making him reluctant to contact his parents. It was best to take him to the hospital for a check–up first. If there were any serious injuries, she would need to call the police.
Thinking this, Vivienne said softly, “Okay, I’ll just let my friend know, and then I’ll take you to the hospital.”
With that, she took the boy’s hand.
His hand was somewhat cold, reminding her of Theo before his health had been managed.
The doctor had said that Theo’s conditions were inherited from the womb and couldn’t be cured quickly; they required long–term care.
At that time, she had watched Theo suffer, feeling both distressed and guilty, wishing she could bear it for him.
But that was impossible. She could only try everything possible to make up for it.
She learned traditional medicine, practiced massage on meridians, cooked medicinal/meals, and designed

diets for him. Maybe because she was a mother, even though she was disappointed in Theo, she couldn’t help but feel compassion for such a young child.
When the boy saw Vivienne taking his hand, he was inally startled. Her hands were soft and warm, which was comforting.
He instinctively held on tighter to Vivienne’s hand and followed her. Vivienne noticed he wasn’t resisting and gave him a gentle smile.
Suddenly, the boy looked down.
Vivienne didn’t think much of it and led him back to Serena’s private room.
Serena, exhausted from singing, was having a drink. Seding Vivienne return, she called out, “Vivi, you’re back? Come on, let’s have a drink… Oh? Is that Theo?”
The light at the entrance was dim, and Serena, seeing only that Vivienne was leading a child, assumed it was Theo
“It’s not.” Vivienne said. “I accidentally bumped into him in the hallway. He seems a bit unwell. I’m going to take him to the hospital.”
-Under the dim light, Serena finally saw the boy’s face clearly. “Wow! What a beautiful child! Almost as
adorable as Theol
Serena quickly walked over to the boy, reaching out to pinch his cheek. The boy dodged with a cold expression and hid behind Vivienne, clearly displeased.
Serena paused for a few seconds, then laughed, “This kid’s reaction is really funny.”
Vivienne said, ‘Serena, never mind. He probably doesnt like being pinched.”
Serena didn’t insist. “Where are his parents? Is it really okay to take him like this? We would rather not be accused of kidnapping.”
Vivienne looked at the boy again. “Little guy, are you sure we shouldn’t notify your family…?”
Before she could finish, the boy interrupted her, clutching Vivienne’s hand tightly, his grip so strong it caused her slight pain. “No, I would rather not notify them!”
Vivienne gave Serena a helpless look.
Serena sighed. “Alright, let’s go to the hospital first.”
They took the boy to the hospital for a check–up.
He didn’t have any injuries or signs of abuse. Although Vivienne felt a sense of relief, a question began to
arise in her mind.
If he wasn’t abused, why was he unwilling to contact his family? Just as this thought crossed her mind, a rush of footsteps came down the hallway.
Suddenly, the door to the room was pushed open, and tall figure strode in.
