Chapter 28 Handle It
“Do you think you can handle this, Ms. Carson?” Peter looked at
- me.
I sneered and thought, “Really? Why don’t you give it a go and see if you can handle this?”
Peter asked the waiter for ten glasses and filled all of them with alcohol. Then he looked at me and said, “The rule is that you can get anyone here to drink for you. Anyone at all. Yet whether you can get one depends on you. If you can’t, drink them all on
Chapter 28 Handle It
Seeing the glasses full of wine, I frowned as I subconsciously
placed a hand over my belly. I thought, “Hang in there, my
baby.”
I picked up a glass and began to drink, and soon, my stomach
began to churn after just a few sips.
Unable to suppress a sense of nausea, I dashed toward the
bathroom and retched over the toilet.
Lanny followed me and stroked my back. “Show Trystan the
white feather. You’re his wife, after all. I’m sure he won’t let
Peter go too far.”
I smirked coldly. Unlike Janet, I couldn’t captivate men just by shedding a few drops of tears.
Instead of responding to his words, I asked, “Is there anything that can reduce the side effects on the baby?”
He nodded. “Yes, but drugs are drugs. There will be side effects
more or less.”
“It’s fine. Please bring me some later.”
I stood up and left the bathroom. Peter had ordered a song and was singing along. Seeing me going back, he narrowed his eyes.
“What is it? You’ve already lost it after one glass?”
Not bothering with him, I glanced at the table. Apart from the
glass I had drunk from, all the others remained intact.
Trystan and Janet were sitting close to each other. She muttered, something to him, and he responded with a slight nod.
His gaze darkened upon seeing me, and he soon looked away indifferently.
Upset, I walked to the table and looked at Peter. “I hope you won’t go back on your word, Mr. Robert.”
With that, I lifted a full glass of wine. Resisting the urge to throw up, I chugged down a few glasses in a row. I couldn’t hold my liquor to begin with. Hence, by the third glass, I had already felt a dull ache coming from my lower abdomen.
Lanny sensed that something was wrong and held my hand with which I held the glass. He looked at Trystan and said, “Trystan, she’s still your wife. You know her physical condition. It’ll be too late to regret if something happens to her.”
“Let go of me!” I was already a bit dizzy. Driven by rage and indignation, I pushed Lanny’s hand away and reached out for another glass of wine.

I was suddenly stopped by a powerful grip right before being
pulled into a familiar embrace. Peter looked at Trystan,
bewildered. “Trystan?”
“She’s my wife. I’ll drink the rest!” With that, Trystan finished
the remaining wine. Janet looked at him, and her eyes instantly
turned red.
My stomach churned, and I wanted to retch several times. Yet
since I was trapped in Trystan’s arms, I couldn’t break free. I
held back relying on the remaining of my consciousness.
No one knew how much Trystan drank. Then Janet abruptly
stood up, looked at Peter, and ordered, “Take me home!” From her voice, it was obvious that she was angry and hurt.
Peter looked at Trystan with a mixed expression, opened his mouth, and wanted to say something. Yet he didn’t know what
to say. In the end, he trailed after Janet and left.
Lanny was left in the private room other than Trystan and me. He snatched away the wine glass in Trystan’s hand and snapped at him, “If you don’t want anything to happen to her, you’d better take her back now!”
Lanny was referring to me.
Trystan frowned and carried me out of the nightclub My head
Chapter 28 Handle it
Trystan frowned and carried me out of the nightclub. My head
spun slightly, and I didn’t know how Lanny left. After Trystan
put me in the car, I felt a stabbing pain in my abdomen.
Trystan saw me curling up into a ball while cradling my belly,
and he frowned. He placed his hand on my abdomen. “Does it
hurt a lot?”
I nodded, a layer of sweat already forming on my forehead.
He started the car and said, “Hang in there. I’ll take you to the
hospital.”
I was terrified and broke out in cold sweat. I quickly grabbed his sleeve and shook my head while looking into his dark eyes.
“Bring me back to the villa and get Dr. Dennis. He can treat me.”
Trystan frowned, looking slightly unhappy.
Afraid that he might overthink, I explained, “He has been the
one taking care of me after the surgery, so he knows what to
do.”
Trystan paused for a second before starting the car and heading
back to the villa.
I breathed a sigh of relief.
Chapter 28 Handle It
He was good at driving, and he drove fast. We reached the villa
in no time. Lanny was going back for the medicine in the first
place, so he got here fast.
Trystan carried me into the bedroom, while Lanny gave me some medicine which slowly eased the pain in my abdomen.
I felt a century long. After a hectic day, dizzy and sleepy, I fell
asleep in a daze.
While I was asleep, I felt that I heard Trystan call out to me, yet I
was so drowsy that I couldn’t open my eyes. I vaguely felt him taking off my clothes and carrying me into the bathroom to give
me a bath.
My subconsciousness wanted to refuse him, yet I just couldn’t wake up no matter how hard I tried.
I vaguely felt that his palms were moving on my abdomen. Unsure of what he was doing, I squirmed away from him a little.
In my groggy state, I felt him carry me to bed. Once again overcome by exhaustion, I fell into a deep slumber almost in no time.
The next day arrived.
