Chapter 20
Jane thought for a while and replied, “That is incorrect”
Lumma directly questioned her, “No? Then what do you mean by telling me this?”
Not expecting Lumma to be so aggressive, Jane lost her tongue
“I’m going to rest.” Lumma opened the door, obviously trying to let her leave.
Outside the room, Jane took out her phone and dialed a number. “Ma’am, the new assistant is young and beautiful, but Mr. Hills has seen too many pretty women. As a woman, I can tell that Mr. Hills has no feelings for her. If she does, you don’t have to do anything. Mr. Hills will not keep her by his side.”
The person on the other end of the phone said something Jane nodded repeatedly and said before hanging up, “Okay, I’ll keep watching her.”
She put away her phone and prepared to leave when a gloomy laugh suddenly came from the balcony behind her.
She turned around and saw Adam standing in the dark, carelessly playing with an unlit cigarette
Jane turned pale with fright. “Mr. Hills, you…”
With a slight flick of his slender fingers, Adam snapped the cigarette in two. “That woman asked you to spy on me, and you listened to her.”
Jane knew very clearly whom he was referring to. “Mr. Hills, I think that your mother is just concerned about you, so
Adam cut her off. “Concerned about me? Do I need her concern? What does her concern have to do with Lumma?”
Faced with his rough attitude, Jane did not dare to lie. “You know, your mother likes Miss Morris and hopes that you two will be together. She’s worried that you’d be charmed by other women.”
“Heh…….” Adam lit the lighter, and his handsome face was reflected in the firelight, terrifying, “She is concerned about my assistant rather than my registered wife
Jane said, “Your mother knows that you got married for the sake of your grandmother. She has never cared about that woman. Lumma is different. She is young and beautiful. No one knows if anything will happen if she keeps staying by your side. Most importantly, you are planning to divorce as soon as Lumma came. It’s reasonable that your mother suspects her.”
Adam lit a cigarette, took a drag, and said indifferently, “Whatever the reason I got married is, she is still my woman as soon as the marriage license is valid. Your master should rejoice that she didn’t get her hands on that woman, or she’ll regret it for the rest of her life.”
There was no expression on his face and his voice was normal.
But Jane felt the bitter chill. “Mr. Hills, then L..”
Adam said, “Be grateful that I transferred you to the west instead of kicking you out of the Hills Group”
Jane used to think that she was transferred to the West because she was valued by him. Not until that moment she realized that Adam had known everything she had done.
In an instant, fear welled up in her heart. She was so frightened that she broke out in a cold sweat
She rejoiced that she hadn’t reported anything important to that women, or the consequences would have been disastrous.
“Lumma is mine now!” Adam stubbed out the cigarette and walked into a room.
Jane was stunned. She had been too careless to notice that he was living next door to Lumma.
After taking the medicine, Lumma had a good night’s sleep until the alarm clock woke her up in the morning.
Her altitude sickness was no longer so serious, and she looked much better.
Lumma washed up and came to the dining room to have breakfast. Because she got up early, only Adam was there.
