Chapter 11
Chapter 11
When Jacob saw Sadie sitting in the interrogation room, he barely recognized her.
Handcuffed to the chair, her once meticulously styled curls now hung greasy against her face. Dark circles bruised her eyes, leaving her looking utterly haggard.
The moment she spotted Jacob, desperate hope flashed across her face.
“Jacob! Please believe me, I didn’t mean to! I… I was just terrified!”
Jacob stared at her impassively, his icy gaze making her flinch.
Her voice faltered under his scrutiny as he looked down at her coldly, slamming a dossier before her.
“Everything from your birth certificate to your highest degree is forged. You’ve got nerve, Sadie.”
Her face tightened. Shaking her head, she choked out a sob, “I… I just loved you too much. All I wanted was to be with you.”
“Nonsense!” Jacob gritted his teeth and “You deliberately
approached me back then, didn’t you? How long did you memorize that script about negotiation tactics? You’re not a professional diplomatic envoy at all, how dare you!”
Thinking of this, Jacob felt as if his heart was being torn apart.
After he and Sadie became colleagues, he was drawn to her innovative

theories on negotiation tactics. They once talked for a day and a night, almost becoming confidants.
Later, during a kidnapping case, Sadie was the closest diplomatic envoy, yet such a major mistake occurred. He originally thought it was just an accident…
But now it seems, she was recklessly endangering lives!
It was that incident that made Allison lose her mother forever… He approached Allison with pity and a sense of atonement, but later, as they interacted, he truly fell in love with her.
It was just that Sadie suddenly returned to the country, reminding him of their past affection.
Yet all that affection turned out to be fake! A complete sham!
Sadie sat there pale–faced, trembling at Jacob’s appearance.
She’d never seen Jacob angry before–he’d always been gentle and chivalrous with her.
“Who was that boss!?”
Sadie shuddered, stammering: “I… I don’t know either. They paid me to memorize those lines and casually say them in front of you. Everything after that was done under their orders!”
“You deserve to die!” Jacob’s eyes instantly turned bloodshot.
“I… I was forced! They threatened me!” Sadie frantically reached out, grabbing Jacob’s sleeve. “Please, I’m carrying your child! For our baby’s sake, save me! I don’t want to go to jail!”

“You said… you once said you loved me!”
Jacob jerked his clothes away and suddenly clamped his hand around Sadie’s neck, tightening his grip.
“Tell me, did you sabotage that ship!?”
Sadie’s eyes widened in terror; she shook her head while tears streamed.
down.
‘Speak!”
“H…help…”
“Captain!” Jacob was pulled away by someone. Sadie collapsed onto the table, coughing violently.
“Captain! The criminal’s pregnant–control yourself!”
Jacob’s fist clenched until his knuckles cracked. He rasped, “Test the fetus’s DNA… I refuse to believe it’s mine.”
The surrounding people exchanged uneasy glances, but Jacob was beyond caring. He inhaled sharply and snapped, “Report everything you find about her to me immediately!”
With that, he strode out.
“Captain, where are you going?”
Jacob didn’t speak aloud, but inwardly lamented with bitterness: He was going to find his Allison. He’d wronged his beloved and deserved this punishment.

As long as Allison remained unharmed, he’d do anything…
