Chapter 13
It was Carol and her adoptive mother Evelyn.
Amanda’s pupils trembled slightly, and in the next second, an overwhelming hatred surged up
up and shattered the calm in her eyes
“Madam, these two are Mrs. Wilson and Miss Colson. They’ve requested to see you, the butler introduced respectfully.
As Amanda looked at the mother and daughter, they were also sizing her up.
Amanda lowered her lashes slightly. It had been years since they last met. Evelyn looked much older now, but her arrogance had only grown stronger, not weaker.
A chill flickered in Amanda’s peach blossom eyes. Just thinking about the days she’d been imprisoned by Evelyn made the flames of hatred surge through her body. But she forced herself to hold it in.
They had stolen the Nectar of Fragrance formula and were now living lives of luxury and prestige. Their current glory was built on her blood. For six years, Nectar of Fragrances had been a best–seller everywhere.
When she saw the bouquet of lilies in Carol’s arms, her heart clenched. Lilies.
Barry was still suspicious of her identity–he had clearly sent Carol to test her.
Carol was dressed fashionably, having clearly gone all out for her visit to the Schmidt family.
How laughable–after six years, Barry still hadn’t married her. He hadn’t even given her a proper title.
Even though the two families were working closely together and their businesses had grown immensely, her status had only risen because of that. Among the socialite circle, she now had a high position.
Carol stared at Amanda’s vaguely familiar face, her complexion paling. She looked so much like Amanda, yet not quite. She had destroyed Amanda’s face all those years ago. It was impossible for her face to recover to this flawless, porcelain–smooth appearance.
Yet the woman before her was dazzling–radiant and stunning beyond words.
A flash of jealousy passed through her eyes.
Evelyn, more experienced and composed, kept her calm. Her gaze also lingered on Amanda. There were similarities, yes, but this woman couldn’t be Amanda. Amanda had been proud and stubborn, but she had never possessed the commanding presence this woman exuded
“Greetings, Young Madam,” Evelyn said with a smile.
There was little emotion in Amanda’s bright eyes. Thanks to Benjamin, this was the first time Evelyn had ever shown her such courtesy.
“Mrs. Wilson, Miss Colson, please have a seat, Amanda replied with poised calm. Her feet were placed neatly together as she sat with elegant posture.
After the servant brought rea, she calmly dropped a small pill into her cup. It dissolved instantly upon touching the water. She took a sip and gently set the cup down
Carol deliberately walked up and handed the large bouquet of lilies to her.
With a sweet smile, she said, “Young Madam, these are lilies. Wishing you and Mr. Schmidt a lifetime of happiness together!”
The fragrance of lilies hit Amanda’s nose immediately, making her want to sneeze and cough..
She pressed her lips into a soft smile, hiding her discomfort. Thanks to the medication, she wasn’t as sensitive as before. She looked at Carol and returned a dazzling smile. “Thank you for the kind wishes, Miss Colson. I do quite like lilies”
She took the bouquet and held it up to her nose for a light sniff.
Carol’s pupils shrank, jealousy flashing in her gaze. For the first time, a phrase came to mind. “A beauty outshining the flowers.”
Amanda turned to the butler. “Please place these by the window. The breeze is gentle today–just right for enjoying their scent”
“Yes, Madam,” the butler replied, taking the flowers and walking off.

Chapter 13
Carol and Evelyn watched carefully. Amanda had touched the lilies–had even smelled them–and she was completely fine.
The real Amanda had always avoided lilies at all costs due to a severe allergy.
She’s not Amanda,
Relief washed over both women.
And yet… jealousy still burned.
This woman, just an orphan, had married into the Schmidt family and become the wife of Cindale’s crown prince, Benjamin. Meanwhile, they had waited and schemed for years, yet Barry hadn’t even proposed to Carol.
“Please, have some tea, Mrs.Wilson, Miss Colson.” Amanda’s movements were graceful as she made an inviting gesture.
Evelyn smiled. “Thank you, Young Madam. What a coincidence–your name happens to be the same as my other daughter’s.”
“Oh?” Amanda responded lightly, her tone breezy. “That really is a coincidence. But how come I’ve never heard that Mrs. Wilson had another daughter? I’ve been in Cipdale for a while now, and all I’ve heard is how famous Miss Li is in the design world. I never heard anything about the Wilson farmily having a daughter named Amanda.”
