Chapter 10

The trending topic hit.

But it wasn’t about Rachel and Peter’s “sweet couple” stream.

It was about Peter cheating-and Rachel knowingly being the other woman.

The home security footage.

Peter’s own messages to me.

All of it packaged into short, sensational clips by a top relationship drama influencer.

Within hours, every influencer with a following-big or small-was reposting, milking the drama.

Rachel had no clue.

She was still on live, giggling with Peter, thinking they’d hooked a fresh wave of fans.

Then the chat turned.

‘Homewrecker trash! Get off this platform!”

Scum couple, go crawl back under a rock!”

‘Ban them before they rot the feed!”

The insults came so fast the moderators couldn’t keep up.

More viewers poured in-not to stan, but to tear them apart.

Rachel had hogged way too much online attention lately, blocking other influencers from trending. Now, everyone she’d annoyed-jealous peers, irritated strangers-jumped at the chance to shove her face in the

dirt.

Merch orders were refunded en masse.

Brands pulled deals, some demanding she pay back the advance plus penalties.

She’d made fast cash, but not enough to cover the sky high damages.

She maxed out every shady online loan app she could find and still came up short.

Chapter 10

She turned to Peter for help, sobbing.

But Peter was broke too-no job, no income, and furious.

The fight turned physical.

The security feed caught Peter slapping her across the face-hard.

The red handprint stood out like a brand.

Broke and desperate, they decided to cash out my house.

No deed in their name, of course, but they figured they could at least sell my furniture and valuables.

Too bad I’d already planned for this.

The moment they touched my stuff, I called my realtor.

By the end of the day, the locks were changed, the place was under my control, and they were out on the

street.

They couldn’t afford a decent hotel, so they ended up in a grimy $15-a-night hostel.

Peter, smart enough to finally connect the dots, realized everything had been my setup from the start. He

exted me-pathetic, groveling.

I made a mistake. She came on to me first. You’re the only one I’ve ever really loved.”

His message got him nothing but a red “blocked” notification.

erased him from my phone-every number, every app.

And I quit my job, too. I had no reason to go back to that city.

This had just been a little “real-life experience.”

My real life was waiting for me back in Harbor City, where I’d take over the family business.

If nothing else, this was one hell of a love lesson.
