So much had happened in just a few days, completely destroying my relationship with the person I loved
most. I was exhausted.
I just wanted to rest.
But when I returned to my bedroom, Liam’s presence haunted every corner.
A closet full of his shirts and suits. Every tie clip I’d custom-made for him.
The photos on the nightstand and that Cartier bracelet I’d treasured for years but never worn.
The bracelet was pretty basic by the brand’s standards.
Not expensive-probably the most modest piece in my jewelry collection.
But it was bought with everything Liam had when he made his first ten million, spending his entire fortune

Turns out it was all lies.
Looking at this bracelet now felt like a cruel joke.
I quickly listed it on a resale site for half price.
Then I called moving and cleaning companies to throw away everything in the house that belonged to him.
Had the place deep cleaned to eliminate that faint tobacco scent that was uniquely Liam’s.
I lay in bed with peace of mind.

I should have guessed that Mrs. Irvine’s comments to the media had already blown up.
Since I took full control of Carter Industries from my parents, they’d been traveling the world for years.
Living here and there, never staying in one place long.
Apart from me calling Dad for work advice and their occasional hints about wanting a grandchild, our family chat was mostly their beautiful travel photos.
