The elevator finally closed. Lucas didn’t follow, and Stella breathed a sigh of relief.
The warmth in her hand faded, leaving only a hollow emptiness behind.

Then she heard the handsome man beside her say, “Aren’t you worried about him? Someone clearly poisoned him mute.”
The comment nearly made Stella black out.
