Chapter 170
Mia was sitting on the edge of her bed, her eyes resting on the packed suitcases by the door.
Everything was ready. Her clothes and Aiden’s had been folded with care, stuffed tightly into the bags. Their flight to Singapore was booked, set for tomorrow morning. A new chapter was beginning, whether she was ready or not.
She sighed, brushing her fingers through her hair, trying not to think too much.
Suddenly, the door flew open with a loud bang, and Aiden came rushing in, laughter bubbling out of him like music. His tiny legs ran as fast as they could, his steps quick and uneven like a puppy chasing joy.
Right behind him was none other than Lily, her expression twisted into a playful scowl, hands stretched out like she was ready to pounce
“Help me!” Aiden squealed, diving into the room. “Mama, Aunt Lily wants to finish me!”
Mia blinked, chuckling as Aiden jumped on the bed and wrapped his small arms tightly around her neck. He was shaking with giggles, face flushed red with excitement.
“Careful, baby,” Mia said quickly, wrapping her arms around him to make sure he didn’t tumble off the bed.
But Aiden didn’t seem to care. His laughter was loud and wild, and his eyes were still fixed on Lily like she was the villain in his favorite cartoon. He loved every second of it.
“You had the audacity to declare war on me,” Lily said, standing at the foot of the bed, arms crossed like she was the queen of vengeance.
Aiden’s giggles only got worse. He couldn’t stop laughing, too amused by her tone, the way she dragged her words out like she was acting on stage.
Mia chuckled quietly, holding her son close, watching the two of them.
“It’s war,” Lily declared again with mock seriousness.
“It’s war!” Aiden repeated without missing a beat, eyes shining with mischief.
Lily scoffed dramatically and looked around the room, her gaze pausing at the packed bags. Her playful expression faltered for a moment. But she quickly looked away before Mia could catch it.
Mia pulled Aiden onto her lap and wrapped her arms around him gently. The game was dying down now. Aiden’s toy dropped from his hands.
He leaned in, wrapping his small arms around his mother’s waist and burying his head in her chest.
“Are you okay, Mama?” he asked, his voice soft now. Innocent. Pure. That tiny voice could undo her in seconds.
Mia swallowed and placed a kiss on the top of his curly head.
“I’m fine, baby. You know…” She paused, trying to keep her voice steady. “You didn’t tell me how you feel about leaving your friends. You know you won’t see Danny for a very long time.”
She kept kissing his face gently, slowly. Her heart was heavy just thinking about it. Her little boy, who is only three already had friends he cared about, a tiny world of his own that she was pulling him away from.
Aiden let out a small laugh, then paused. His face twisted into a little frown.
“Me and Danny are not friends anymore,” he said.
Mia’s brows furrowed immediately. “Ohhh, babe. What happened?” she asked softly, brushing her fingers through his hair.
Aiden pouted, his lower lip sticking out, “He said I stole his girlfriend.”

Chapter 170
Mia choked on her own breath, completely caught off guard. She coughed into her hand, trying to hide her shock and keep a straight face.
From where she was still leaning against the doorframe, Lily burst out laughing. The kind of laugh that echoed around the room. Loud and unfiltered.
Mia turned and glared at her sister playfully, her eyes narrowing. “Lily,” she said under her breath, trying not to laugh herself. But it was hard. The way Aiden looked so serious made it even funnier.
“Baby,” Mia said, finally facing Aiden again. “Did you really steal his girlfriend?”
Aiden shook his head with the most serious look on his face. His tiny brow was furrowed. “Gaby said she likes me more. That I’m more handsome.”
“Oh,” Mia breathed out, trying her hardest not to smile. She cleared her throat. “So… Gaby is Danny’s girlfriend?”
Aiden nodded confidently.
Lily, who still hadn’t recovered from laughing, leaned on the doorframe with a smirk. “Not surprised. Like father, like son. Turning heads with those looks.”
Mia snapped her eyes to her sister and gave her a deadly glare, sharp and warning. But Lily didn’t seem to notice.
Of course, Aiden heard her. Nothing gets past him.
