Chapter 17
Everyone present was shocked upon hearing this.
All the staff in the Royal Medical Hall stopped what they were doing and stared at Avery.
Avery’s face, which was otherwise fairly good–looking, was severely swollen today. This morning, when Nolan asked him. about it, he claimed it was from a bug bite.
Everyone was puzzled. ‘In this cold winter, a bug bite?”
But no one expected that Margaery would come out and expose his secret.
It turned out he got beaten up while stealing a prescription.
As they traced back, there were indeed no signs of bug bites on Avery’s face; instead, it looked like someone had slapped him several times.
This was going to be entertaining.
His colleagues, who couldn’t stand him putting on airs, now laughed mockingly. “Doctor Wallen, aren’t you always concerned about propriety? How could you stoop so low as to steal?
“What about the prescription?
“Didn’t you say before that it was your own development? Now it seems not quite right.
“Could you be saying that you stole your sister’s formula for yourself and then tried to bully her into apologizing to Tessa?
“if that’s true, that’s too shameless!”
The chaotic voices felt like slaps on Avery’s face. He felt burning hot on his cheeks.
Furious with embarrassment, he decided not to argue anymore.
Glaring at Margaery, he said defiantly, “Margaery, the prescription has already been submitted to the Royal Medical Hall. If they want it, let them come get it themselves.
“Besides, you gifted me the formula before. Any trouble caused is your fault..
“No.” Margaory denied. “I gave you those formulas under certain conditions.
“The first formula was for flying kites with me, but you broke your promise and went shopping for candies for Tessa. The second formula was for speaking up for me in front of Father so he wouldn’t send me to Gracewind Garden.
“But instead of helping me, you sided with Tessa and allowed her to take over my Blissom Hall while I ended up in the abandoned Gracewind Garden,
“The third formula was for asking you to bring allergy medicine for me. But when you came back that day, all you brought was stomach medicine for Tessa,

Margaery was spitting venom, laying out Avery’s dirt list.
“The eighteenth formula is for telling the warehouse staff to deliver me some lumber. But it wasn’t until last night when you came to get the formula that you remembered there was no lumber in my fireplace.”
With that, tears welled up in her eyes. “The nineteenth formula was given to you after I knelt by your feet and begged with all my heart that I didn’t frame Tessa. You took the formula but still made me apologize as a price for getting out of the lumber room.
“Avery, don’t tell me you forgot all this.”
These were all evidence of how she tried to please him.
Avery only took the formulas but never fulfilled any promises or requests she made.

“Front stage? You’re Mr. Perfect–peace glue dripping from your hands. But off–script? Your ‘family harmony‘ means tears pay for everyone’s happy ending. Apology vending machine–just feed me obedience coins.
“Now, it’s your turn to apologize to me.”
The room fell silent as everyone stared at the siblings, shocked by Margaery’s words.
They had only heard about how jealous Margaery was and how she couldn’t stand Tessa, which made the Chancellor so angry that he forced her to apologize to Tessa in front of everyone.
But they didn’t know there was more to the story.
Someone couldn’t take it anymore, “Avery, I never thought you’d be like this. How can you treat your own sister like this?”
“I never expected the Wallen family would have such dirty secrets. It’s eye–opening.”
Everyone shook their heads, losing all respect for the Wallen family.
Even Nolan couldn’t stand it anymore.
“Avery, what do you have to say?” he asked.
He locked eyes on Avery, face ghost–pale. “If those prescriptions are not clean, we won’t accept them. Can’t trace your paper trail? Fine, let the Inquisition Court find out the truth.
“The Royal Medical Hall can’t afford such a bad reputation.”
He had been honest all his life; under his leadership, the Royal Medical Hall remained spotless. That was why the King’s descendants thrived.
Now, about to retire but getting entangled in this mess, he was inevitably a bit upset.
Hearing this, Avery thought of losing his upcoming wealth and status.
His eyes turned red as he turned around and said angrily to Nolan, “Doctor Fischer, don’t listen to her nonsense. There’s nothing wrong with those prescriptions.

“She’s a walking bullshit artist. Every word out of her mouth is pure fiction. Never trust her.”
Then, he turned around to threaten Margaery, “Margaery, since you’re my sister, I won’t hold it against you if you stop causing trouble. If you go back now and behave yourself, I might plead with Father for leniency on your punishment, otherwise-”
“Otherwise?” A cold voice suddenly came from outside the door, cutting him off.
This voice was unique; once heard, never forgotten.
Everyone inside exchanged glances and whispered among themselves, “Is that Prince Dashnell’s voice?”
“Prince Dashnell?” Nolan was also startled, hurriedly lifting the curtain and looking at the person outside.
It’s so cold today. Why did Your Highness come in person? Just let us know what you need,” he said, all polite and all.
With that, he turned his head and gave Margaery a strange look.
He had watched Dashnell grow up.
Dashnell had a cold personality and rarely interacted with others. Not to mention women, there were only a few men he got along with.
Yet, he would actually step forward for Margaery to confront the Chancellor’s son.
Margaery was confused by the looks she was getting. She hadn’t expected Dashnell to suddenly appear either. She quickly regained her composure and made a bow. “Your Highness.”
Avery jolted back, jaw locked like a steel trap. “Your Highness.” The words scraped out, a gritted salute to Dashnell.
He had an ominous feeling, though it didn’t seem real. “Was Prince Dashnell just defending Margaery and questioning me? But why?”
He really couldn’t figure out why Margaery could make Prince Dashnell step forward for her. So he cautiously asked, “Prince Dashnell, just now-
However, Dashnell ignored him and looked straight at Nolan instead. “I just got my prescription today to pick up medicine. You know that the divine doctor who suppresses my poison has a peculiar temperament.
“He doesn’t want anyone else to see his prescriptions. Therefore, I have to come personally.”
Nolan pondered over these words. As the King’s personal doctor since the late King’s reign, that old fox breathed palace politics for decades–a few dropped words click into place, and bam! Case cracked.
So, Prince Dashnell came here for Margaery.
“Moreover, this prescription in his hand likely came from the same source as Margaery
This truly complicated matters now, he thought to himself
He iced out Avery, laser–eyes locking on Margaery, and said to Dashnell, “So, Your Highness, the miracle–scribe behind
