Chapter 11
Dante hesitated for a moment, then sighed deeply.
“You probably don’t know this… Evelyn has health issues. She can’t have children. Once Natalia gives birth, I’ll make her leave the pack forever. She’ll never be allowed to step foot in Frosthaven
again.”
Felicity silently shook her head, feeling again how unworthy Dante was of Evelyn.
Her best friend had once foolishly taken the blame for being infertile. All because she loved Dante too much. Yet even after she left, he still obsessed over having an heir.
Even if Evelyn truly couldn’t conceive, Dante chose the cruelest way possible–letting his first love
bear their child.
“I have nothing more to say. Dante, one day you’ll pay the price for everything you’ve done.”
Dante frowned. Something about Felicity’s words felt… off.
He tried to ask more, but she’d already hung up.
Still unwilling to give up, Dante began calling Evelyn’s friends one by one, desperate to find out
where she was.
Dozens of calls later, he still had no answers.
With no choice left, he sent out messengers from the pack to track down Evelyn.

By the next afternoon, Thorne entered the pack office, gently pushing the door open.
“Alpha Dante… Luna went to Crisantia…”
Crisantia?
Dante’s expression darkened. He closed his eyes, completely overwhelmed by despair.
He remembered the agreement Rosalie and Silas had once made him sign.
If Evelyn was ever hurt because of him and returned to Crisantia alone, he would be forbidden from
stepping into Crisantia ever again. If he did, all of his assets would be transferred to Evelyn,
automatically.
Dante remained silent for a long while. Then, in a hoarse voice, he said: “Book me a flight to

Crisantia. As soon as possible.”
Thorne froze in disbelief, then cautiously tried to stop him.
“Dante…the moment you set foot in Crisantia, that agreement becomes effective. Whether or not you reconcile with Luna, you’ll lose everything–your company, your pack. Are you sure about this?”
“I’m sure.”
Dante was desperate to see Evelyn again and explain everything.
He ordered Thorne to book the flight and rushed home to pack.
He hadn’t dared return home the night before.
Now, stepping into the house again, he found it exactly as the maids had described–Evelyn’s belongings were all gone.
He walked into the master bedroom and slowly opened the drawer by the bed.
All of Evelyn’s IDs and documents were gone.
Dante’s chest tightened. Looking around at the empty room, an overwhelming despair crashed down on him like a tidal wave.
He ordered the maids to pack his things and printed out every photo he had of him and Evelyn from his phone. He was going to Crisantia to win her back.
An hour later, just as he was about to leave for the airport, a figure burst into the room.
The woman threw herself into his arms, looking up at him with pleading eyes.
“You’re going to Crisantia? What about me and the baby?”
Ten minutes earlier, Natalia had overheard the news from the back of the pack house.
If Dante went to Crisantia, all his assets would transfer to Evelyn.
Natalia panicked.
Dante hesitated, his expression conflicted.
“I’ll only be gone for a week. I’ll be back.”

Natalia shook her head, gritting her teeth.
“If you leave, I won’t have the baby.”
She didn’t want to be tied down by a man with no money.
“Either you stay, or this baby dies in my womb. You choose.” Natalia refused to step aside.
Dante stared at her, then finally said: “Fine. I’ll stay with you for two months–until the pregnancy is stable. After that, I’m going to Crisantia to find Evelyn.”
He paused, then gripped Natalia’s chin, voice low and threatening.
“You better give birth to this baby safely. If anything happens to it–I’ll make your entire family pay with their lives.”
A dangerous glint flashed in Dante’s eyes, sending a chill down Natalia’s spine.
She was scared because the child wasn’t Dante’s, and if he ever found out the truth…
No, it was impossible.
She had hidden it so well that no one knew.
At the same time, at Crisanta Airport, Evelyn dragged her suitcase outside. From a distance, she spotted Rosalie and Silas waiting for her at the arrival area.
Rosalie looked at her daughter, now a shadow of her former self, and tears silently welled up in her
eyes.
Her daughter, who had been pampered all her life, had gone through a short five–year marriage and now looked so worn and exhausted.
“Is everything taken care of over there?”
Last night, Rosalie and Silas had learned of the situation in Frosthaven.
They’d already heard the rumors swirling through Frosthaven–Dante’s betrayal, the secret wedding photoshoot with Natalia, the shameless meetings with her parents.
Evelyn met her parents‘ eyes, knowing there was no way to hide anything from them. She choked back a sob and said,
“Mom, Dad, I’m sorry.”

Rosalie embraced Evelyn, gently stroking her head.
“We don’t blame you. You gave your all to your marriage. There’s nothing shameful about that. It’s the ones who cheat in marriage that should be ashamed.”
Silas, who had been silent, nodded in agreement with his wife.
“Exactly. Dante is a man like that. Breaking the mate bond with him is actually a good thing. You’re back. Your mother and I will take care of you. If you don’t want to take over the pack, you don’t have to. After all, your mother and I have enough money to ensure you live comfortably for several lifetimes.”
Rosalie took Evelyn’s hand, worried she might fall into despair, and spoke gently:
“We had you to enjoy life, not to suffer. And besides, breaking the mate bond with your mate isn’t the end of the world. You always have the right to make mistakes.”
Evelyn sniffed and finally felt a warmth returning to her long–cold heart.
No matter what, her parents were always her greatest support.
“Mom, Dad, I plan to focus on recovering my health and furthering my studies. When I’m ready, I’ll
take over the pack.”
For seven years, she had been consumed by love, but now, she would shift her focus to her career
and spending time with her parents.
Meanwhile, in Frosthaven, Dante had promised Natalia that he would wait until her pregnancy was
stable before coming to Crisanta in two months.
But recently, he had clearly been distancing himself from Natalia.
When Natalia invited him for a meal, Dante refused, claiming he was too busy with work.
When Natalia cried that she was in pain, Dante just called a doctor to visit her.
When Natalia said she couldn’t eat, Dante coldly replied, “Just skip a few meals, you’ll be fine.”
He even forced Natalia to sign an agreement, promising her a lump sum of money once the child was born on the condition that she would never see the child again or set foot in Frosthaven.
Staring at the agreement, Natalia broke down, choking on her sobs.
“Why? I give birth to this child with so much effort, and now you’re saying I can’t even see him?”

Dante’s face turned dark, and his black eyes flashed with impatience. “You should be grateful you
still have some reproductive value.”
Dante forced Natalia to sign the papers, then had a messenger wolf deliver the letter he had written
to Evelyn.
Every day, without fail, he handwrote a letter. Sometimes it was an apology, other times it was filled with longing for Evelyn, and at other times, it was a desperate plea for her forgiveness.
A month later, many netizens were moved by Dante’s persistence, and some even began to change their opinions.
On the other hand, Natalia was growing more desperate.
Recently, Dante had been coming to see her less and less, now only visiting once a week.
Each time, he would briefly touch her belly before hastily leaving.
Dante had completely reduced her to nothing more than a breeding tool.
With only a month left before Dante was due to travel to Crisanta, Natalia, feeling trapped, took out her phone and contacted an old acquaintance.
