That day, Blake fled like a kicked dog.
We didn’t see each other for the next two months.
But Blake was busy making moves.
Chloe and her crew got dragged to court.
They even found evidence on Chloe’s phone of her bullying me and bringing that man to assault me.
The whole internet was calling Chloe and her gang monsters.
But Chloe claimed Aria was behind it all.
Aria sued Chloe for defamation.
Then Chloe fired back with screenshots of their chat.

Aria’s sweet girl image was toast. She got blacklisted everywhere.
In the end, none of them could even afford the breach of contract fees.
As for me, public opinion completely flipped. Big directors were suddenly wanting me for lead roles,
But I knew my acting skills weren’t there yet.
And I made a big decision too.
I quit the industry.
After four years, I realized I wasn’t cut out for this world.
I opened a bookstore. Books didn’t make money, so I mainly sold coffee.
I discovered I was much better suited for this quiet life.
Blake didn’t bother me anymore, but we still ran into each other during holidays.
Every time we met, he’d bring me gifts and a box of chocolates,
I accepted the gifts since I gave some back too.
But I never touched the chocolates.
Eventually I felt bad about the waste and turned them down directly.
“I’m past the age of loving sweets. You should give those to someone else, Mr. Winters.”
But Blake called out behind me: “Zara, even if you don’t love me, can we at least start as friends?”
I thought about it and nodded.
