Chapter 4
But before I could finish, a sharp pain stabbed through my back, sending my whole body crashing forward.
I never imagined Chloe would actually stab me with the knife.
My body slammed against the door with a loud thud.
Chloe and the other girl went pale as ghosts. She stared at the blood on her hands, let out a shriek, and flung the knife three feet away.
“Are you insane! If she dies, we’re all dead!”
“I didn’t mean to! I was just trying to stop her.”
The two women whispered frantically, but they were already losing it.
But even if I was going to die, I couldn’t die in this godforsaken back room.
While they were still in shock, I forced myself to hold on, enduring the pain as I twisted open the door.
By the time they snapped out of it, it was too late.
I stumbled out.
Right into someone’s arms.
But damn it…
It was Aria’s.
Aria was half a head taller than me. She wrapped one arm around me and clamped her other hand over my mouth.
Blocking me completely.
“Why’d you come out without clothes on? Really… even if you’re obsessed with Blake, you can’t just run around naked.”
And me – as the blood and strength drained from my body, my consciousness started to fade.
Blake seemed really irritated. He didn’t even look at me, just heard his voice dripping with annoyance.
“Get her off the set!”
So after twenty years living under the same roof, Blake couldn’t even recognize my voice.
That’s how much he must hate me.
No, not hate indifference.
What hurt more than hate was complete indifference.
I channeled all my despair and rage into biting down hard on the hand covering my mouth.
A scream. Aria let go.
Blake finally turned to look at me.
The women rushing out to grab my shoulders – it was too late.

Chapter 4
There I stood in front of Blake, clothes torn to shreds, barely covered.
Blood streaming down my clothes.
I saw Blake’s eyes go wide, his face instantly drained of color.
Chloe’s voice shook: “Mr. Winters, this woman was lying about being your sister. We just taught her a little lesson for you.”
I just looked at him with pure disappointment and said one thing: “Blake, I hate you.”
“Zara…”
In the last moment before I passed out, I saw Blake running toward me.
