Bond Shattered in Blood 9

Bond Shattered in Blood 9

Chapter

Hearing the whole story, I felt a certain satisfaction

She had caused the death of Luna Ellen, my child, and two innocent patients

to make up for it

Four lives. Even if she died a thousand times, it wouldn’t be enough to

I didn’t let this consume me for too long, though. I refocused my energy on furthering my medical studies

But, as the saying goes, Man plans, but fate laughs.”

Half a year had passed since I last saw Adam, and then he suddenly showed up

It was close to Christmas, and I was in the supermarket, shopping and discussing a small gathering with a few friends

He stood in the crowded supermarket, and the moment he saw me, his eyes lit up

As he hurried towards me, I didn’t flee because I owed him nothing and I had done nothing wrong

I was not the one at fault

He stopped about a meter away, hesitating, not daring to come any closer

In my memory, he had always been tall and imposing, but now he had lost weight

His face pale and weary, his whole presence lacked its former radiance. The eyes of a grown man seemed pitiful and wronged, like an abandoned puppy

Others might have felt sorry for him, but I didn’t

Laura, Nikki told me you’ve been unwell and need rest. That’s why I’m only coming now. You should be calm by now, right? Come back to the park with me.”

He said, cautiously testing the waters

I remained calm. I’m going back to my country eventually, but it has nothing to do with you. If you don’t want things to get ugly between us, then just sign the bondbreaking deal.”

Adam furrowed jus brows. Laura, it’s been six months. Haven’t you punished me enough?”

He stepped closer, reaching for me, but my friends immediately stepped in and pinned him to the ground, punching and kicking him

Adam froze for a moment

He looked at me in disbelief. Laura, you had them attack me?”

Yes

The moment I saw

whim, I had quietly told my friends that he was my enemy

Adam struggled with all his might, and one of my friends swung a punch at his stomach

But just before the punchy landed, Adam suddenly coughed up a mouthful of blood

My in

friends froze in shock, not daring to act further. They exchanged nervous glances and then looked at me

We were all doctors, and the smell of blood couldn’t be faked

I walked over to him, looking down at himn

Adam’s eyes brightened instantly as he looked at me. Laura, it hurts so much”

I smiled faintly, lifting my leg to kick his stomach. Adam, did you have a blood bag in your mouth? Is this little show fun for The light in his eyes flickered out rapidly, his face contorting with pain and desolation

you?”

Whiteout Survival

Although my friends despised him, their duty as doctors kicked in. They crouched down to examine him

After a brief examination, they looked up with tense expressions. They said Adam most likely had severe liver problems

They pulled out their phones to call for an ambulance

I stopped them

Looking down at Adam, who was struggling for life on the ground, I spoke calmly

Don’t bother with him. This is just his act to make me feel sorry for him. Why else would he faint only in front of me?”

The words Adam once said to me now came back like boomerangs, each one striking him where it hurt the most

Adam coughed up more blood, forcing a bitter smile. SorryI’m so sorry”

At the time, you must have been in so much pain and felt helpless. I’m sorry, I didn’t believe you back then.”

The image of me lying on the ground, almost dying at the door of the consultation room, flashed in my mind

My eyes turned red, but I straightened my back

Without a second of hesitation, I strode past him

That night, Adam was rushed into pack hospital for emergency treatment. His liver cancer was in its final stages, and treatment was nearly pointless

He was left to rely on painkillers, living day by day

We were in the same city, but I never visited him

Two months later, the hospital sent me a notice of his critical condition. Since his only contact abroad was me, they called me

At the time, I was in class, and I didn’t let the news disrupt my studies. I only made my way to the hospital after my evening course ended at eight

By the time! arrived, Adam was barely conscious, his strength nearly gone

He opened his eyes and saw me sitting by his bed, struggling to hold my hand

With longing in his voice, he said, Laura, I had a beautiful dream. In it, there was no Carla. Our child was born healthy, and we were a happy family of three.”

Laura, if there’s a next life, I wouldn’t choose Carla. I would love you properly.”

I gently pulled his trail hand away

Looking down at him, I said coldly, Maybe there is a next life, but you don’t deserve it. In this life or the next, I never want to see you again.”

Go to hell. Go there and atone for the sins you committed against my child.”

Adam’s eyes froze, and finally, in utter despair, he closed them for good
