This time, I maintained control.
Reed was the insecure one, constantly asking if I loved him. I soothed him while focusing on expanding my busines
Meanwhile, Nash reappeared. He’d struggled these past years, entangled with Kira’s family until he spent a fortune to get rid of them.
Attempting a comeback, he found his former drinking buddies wouldn’t even meet with him. With no options left, he approached me again.
By then, I had someone new by my side. When Nash saw me, he looked visibly aged. In just three short years, he’d grown noticeably older.
“Harlow, can we try again?” he asked.
I leaned against Reed’s chest, appraising Nash. It was clear he’d made an effort for this meeting–even wearing cologne.
But it simply wasn’t enough.
I shook my head. “You’re too old, Nash. Look at those wrinkles on your face. What could you possibly offer compared to my little boyfriend?”
Nash’s face instantly drained of color. He didn’t realize that men in their thirties were no longer on my radar.
Reed smirked at him. “Maybe get some Botox, dude. Your abs are history–you think my girl wants to wake up to a dad bod every morning?”
In truth, Nash hadn’t become completely unattractive, but compared to Reed, he simply couldn’t compete.
Nash’s face went ghostly pale as he watched us walk away, utterly defeated.
Reed wrapped his arm around my shoulders. “Don’t worry, babe. When I hit thirty, I promise I won’t let myself go ike that. I’ll keep myself in shape so you’ll never want to leave me.”
Well, prove it to me, baby~” I patted his cheek, feeling extraordinarily light–hearted.
Younger men really are better!
ust this one might be a bit clingy, but until I grow tired of him, I might as well enjoy the ride.
