“Why shouldn’t I?” I regarded him calmly. “When your parents came to harass me, you should have anticipated
this.”
His expression darkened. “I never told my mother to confront you. I didn’t know about that.”
“Whether you knew or not doesn’t matter. When I called you, Kira answered. Her words represent your position. So before questioning my actions, ask yourself what you’ve done!”
“I’ve always been passionate in both love and hate. But if someone tries to walk all over me, I don’t play nice. Not only will she pay for this, but I want you to understand something: people who betray me have no right to question
me!”
Nash flushed with anger. “She’s just a server–she didn’t cost me much!”
I placed my hand over his mouth. “She might not have money, but you do. Since you’ve spent so much on her, you
should have enough to bail her out. After all, it’s true love, right?”
“Also, warn your parents to stop harassing me. I’ve seen them lurking around the complex several times. If you can’t control them, I’ll retaliate.”
Nash knew I didn’t make empty threats. Moreover, I had the power to send him back to square one.
He deflated visibly. “Harlow, this is exactly your problem–you never know how to soften up.”
I couldn’t hold back anymore but slapped him hard across the face!
‘I save my compromises for people who matter. For someone who betrayed my trust? You don’t deserve that
consideration!”
‘Stay away from me. Try me again and see what happens!”
I pointed at him, my voice razor–sharp.
He stood stunned, clearly shocked that I would speak to him this way. His face grew increasingly pale.
After he left, Kira immediately called me, her shrill voice screaming through the phone. “Harlow, what makes you so special? What right do you have to make me pay that money back? It’s Nash gave those gifts to me!”
I rubbed my ear. “Listen, sweetie. You started working at 16, became a server at 23, never bothered to improve yourself. I don’t blame you.”
‘But you might need to read a book sometime. The money Nash spent on you? As his legal wife, I’m entitled to reclaim every penny.”

My words pierced her like a needle. She immediately became hysterical. “I’m not the other woman! The unloved
one is the other woman! You’re the other woman here!”
I hung up as she continued her tirade. She sent more abusive messages, which I screenshot and forwarded to Nash. Then I contacted Mr. Griffin to intercept Nash’s project.
Some lessons are learned through experience, not words.
[hijacked this major deal to teach Nash a lesson–if he couldn’t keep his house in order, he shouldn’t expect any
courtesy from me.
Perhaps my lesson must have been effective because neither Nash’s family nor Kira bothered me again.
Our five–year marriage came to an end, leaving our mutual friends in disbelief.
[wo weeks after signing the agreement, Lucas invited me to dinner. He’d introduced me to Nash originally,
essentially playing matchmaker, so I couldn’t politely decline.
When I arrived, several other friends were there–all from Nash’s social circle.
The moment I arrived, Lucas poured me a drink.
‘Harlow, I never thought Nash would mess up this badly. But after five years together, you’re ending things just like hat? Isn’t there any way back for him?”
‘That’s something you should ask Nash, not me,” I frowned. “I don’t understand–he’s the one who cheated. Why are you approaching me? Are you suggesting I should swallow my pride and take back a man who’s been used by
someone else?”
