Chapter 97
As soon as he left, Nyasia took out her phone, snapped a photo
of the medical report, and sent it to Kaneeta.
She knew that Kaneeta had blocked all her contact information,

so she deliberately used another phone number to send the
message.
“Ms. Drayton, I’m pregnant. I really wanted to share this news with you.”
Kaneeta would definitely be able to guess whose child it was.
Although Kaneeta might be dying soon, making her experience
pain and despair before she died–just thinking about it was
truly satisfying.
However, Nyasia had no idea that Kaneeta had already changed
her phone number, so she never even saw the message.

After joining the Drayton Group, Kaneeta forced herself to
focus all her energy on the company for the time being.
But occasionally, during breaks, she couldn’t help but think of

Woodrow.
A week had already passed.

She wondered how he was doing now.
Night had already fallen. After finishing the last document,
Kaneeta took the

to the underground parking to the underground parking
lot.
She hadn’t expected to find a black car parked next to hers, with

a man leaning against the car door.
The dim yellow light cast a hazy halo around him. His sharp features and upright posture made Kaneeta’s breath catch–it
was Woodrow.
The top two buttons of his shirt were undone, revealing a hint
of his collarbone. His usually cold eyes and brows now showed
a trace of fatigue, but the moment he saw Kaneeta, they lit up
brilliantly.
Kaneeta’s steps involuntarily slowed, but her heartbeat sped up
uncontrollably.
“When did you get back?” she asked softly.
“I just got off the plane not long ago,” Woodrow replied with a
gentle laugh. “I heard Ms. Drayton was working at the company, so I thought I’d come by to see you and say hello.“”
After a pause, he added, “Even though Ms. Drayton has
repeatedly told me to keep my distance… I’m sorry, I just can’t do
it.”
Kaneeta turned her head and coughed awkwardly a couple of
times.
“Well… before, I made a mistake.“”
“Hm?” Woodrow looked puzzled. “What mistake?”
Kaneeta’s lips moved, but she didn’t know how to explain.
Admitting she had mistaken the person she was supposed to
marry was just too embarrassing to say out loud.
“It’s nothing,” Kaneeta said, shaking her head like a rattle drum,
as if trying to shake all the awkward feelings out of her mind.
She took a few more steps forward, discreetly looking
Woodrow up and down.
Good, he didn’t seem to be hurt.
Woodrow suddenly chuckled softly. “Don’t worry, Ms. Drayton,
I’m fine. Maybe I lost a few hairs, but overall, I’m safe and

healthy!”
Now that her concern had been exposed, Kaneeta didn’t bother
to hide it anymore and said straightforwardly, “Well, as long as
Mr. Hartwell is safe, I can rest easy!“”
Woodrow’s breath caught.
The two of them stared at each other in silence for a long
moment before Woodrow finally spoke again.
“So from now on, Ms. Drayton won’t insist on ‘keeping our
distance‘ anymore, right?”
Kaneeta bit her lip, a hint of annoyance showing on her face.
“Mr. Hartwell, can we please stop mentioning those four
words…”
