Chapter 92
“Still trying to argue?” Kaneeta shot her a glare.
“Hehe, my bad, I won’t dare do it again,” Cora replied with a
cheeky grin.
Watching Kaneeta pack up an oil painting, she asked, “Did
Miguel give this to you?”
“Mm.” Kaneeta closed the box and put it into a gift bag. “I’m
going to return it to him.”
“Tsk tsk.” Cora shook her head. “Neeta, isn’t that a bit too
heartless? From what Miguel said… it sounds like he really likes
you. He’s liked you for years, hasn’t he?”
“That’s exactly why I need to draw a clear line with him,”
Kaneeta said. “I can’t give him any false hope.”
The whole mix–up with the engagement was already
embarrassing enough.
And to make matters worse, Miguel actually had feelings for
her.
If she didn’t make her stance clear, it wouldn’t be fair to Miguel

either.
“You’re right about that.”
Cora casually grabbed a chocolate bar from the side. As she tore
open the wrapper, she suddenly looked at Kaneeta and said,
“Neeta, you seem a bit different from a few days ago.”
“Hm?” Kaneeta was puzzled. “How am I different?”
“You seem to be in a pretty good mood,” Cora tilted her head. “Is
it because… you found out your real fiancé is actually
Woodrow?”
Kaneeta raised her hand and gently scratched her cheek. “Do I
really look like I’m in a good mood?”
“Yes, you do.” Cora nodded emphatically.
Kaneeta lowered her head to tug at the ribbon on the gift bag,
her fingertips circling the satin twice before she said softly, “It’s
just that now I know who my real fiancé is, so I don’t have to
deal with any more misunderstandings.”
She deliberately kept her tone flat, but the tips of her ears
quietly turned pink.
“Oh, come on, you think you can fool me? Not that easy!”
Chapter 92
“I’m not fooling you.”
Kaneeta tied the ribbon again, then took the bag out and
instructed a servant to deliver it to Miguel.
By the time she came back, Cora had nearly finished off a whole
pack of chocolate bars.
“So, are you still going to Miguel’s art exhibition?”
Kaneeta shook her head. “No, I’m not going.”
“Then I won’t go either,” Cora said. “He only gave me a ticket
because he wanted you
to come. If you’re not going, I might as
well return the ticket to him.”
Kaneeta didn’t say anything more and
check it.
ked up her phone to
Woodrow hadn’t called her nor had he sent any
messages.
Odin,
She had thought about reaching out to him, but was afraid she
might disturb whatever he was busy with and cause him
trouble.
So she had to hold herself back.
“Neeta… are you waiting for Woodrow to call you?” Cora asked

in a teasing tone.
Kaneeta: “…”
She really couldn’t hide anything from Cora.
“Oh, right.” Cora suddenly remembered something. After
tossing the now–empty wrapper into the trash, she asked
seriously, “That guy Edmund hasn’t bothered you again, has
he?”
“No.”
Or rather, even if he wanted to, he couldn’t.
She had already changed her phone number.
“Good.” Cora’s expression turned cold. “He’d better not let me see
him, or I’ll give him a good slap. No, more than one slap.”
“Better not,” Kaneeta said with concern. “Don’t dirty your
hands.”
“It’s fine, I don’t mind. Worst case, I’ll just wash them a few more
times.”
