Edmund glanced at the cup of coffee, hesitating to speak.
Nyasia suddenly understood, and sneered, “You think it doesn’t
taste as good as the coffee Kaneeta makes, don’t you?”
If it was just that he didn’t like the taste, he could have said so
directly. There was no need to be so evasive.
Edmund didn’t answer her question, only let out a soft sigh.
Nyasia forced herself to hold back her anger. “Ed, before you
went to college, I used to make coffee for you at home all the

doesn’t taste good anymore?”

“Then what do you mean? You clearly said before that Kaneeta

“Haven’t I done enough for you?” Edmund looked at her, eyes
full of hurt. “To help you get away from your abusive ex-
husband, I married you. To fulfill your dream of having a child
of our own, I proposed to Neeta, went to great lengths to get her
a fake marriage certificate. Nya, if I didn’t care about you, would
I have done all that?”
Nyasia’s momentum instantly faded.
If she were to deny all that Edmund had done for her, it would
truly be heartless.
But she still couldn’t stand that Edmund kept thinking about
Kaneeta.

Just like how, when she was abroad, Edmund was always
thinking about her.

After all, that man would take care of Kaneeta for her, so she

Roseburn.”‘
“To Roseburn?” Nyasia was puzzled. “For what?”
“My father has an old friend. He contacted me this morning,
said he’s about to turn sixty and is throwing a big birthday
party. He invited me to attend, and there’s also some business
over there that I can handle in person.”

“And while we’re in Roseburn, you can take me to visit Madam
Drayton.” Edmund looked at her.
Nyasia’s mind buzzed.

business, just pay a simple visit. That should be fine, right?
Didn’t you say Madam Drayton likes you a lot?”
“Of course!” Nyasia forced herself to perk up, trying not to let
her guilt show. “I–I was just thinking about what gift to bring.”
“Don’t worry, I’ll take care of it.”
Edmund studied Nyasia.
Come to think of it, Nyasia’s reaction had always been a bit off
lately whenever anything related to the Drayton family in
Roseburn was mentioned.
