Chapter 63
“Mr. Hartwell, are you going to buy something? Let me do it.”
“No need.”
Woodrow tosséd out these two words and walked toward the
pharmacy.
Before long, he returned with a tube of ointment in his hand.
Kaneeta looked at the ointment in his hand and suddenly
realized something. She glanced down at the red marks still
lingering on her wrist.
After getting into the car, Woodrow handed her the ointment.
“Thank you.” Kaneeta accepted it.
Actually, it wasn’t that serious.
But it was a kind gesture from Woodrow.
Woodrow said nothing more, and the driver got back in and
continued driving.
The car stopped at the gate of the residence where Kaneeta was
currently staying.

Perhaps it was because Edmund had annoyed her tonight, but
Kaneeta actually felt a bit carsick.
Woodrow got out first, walked around to the other side, and
opened the car door for her.
The night breeze, carrying the scent of late cherry blossoms,
rushed in. As Kaneeta got out, she accidentally missed a step and
was steadied by his hand at her waist.
“Careful.” The warmth of his palm came through the thin shirt,
and Kaneeta shrank back as if scalded, thanking him repeatedly.
Woodrow’s hand froze in midair, but he quickly withdrew it as
if nothing had happened, though the soft sensation of her waist
lingered on his fingertips.
“Remember to apply the ointment.” He looked at the red marks
on her wrist, his tone brooking no argument.
“Mm, I will.” Kaneeta glanced at the ointment in her hand, then
looked up at him. “Mr. Hartwell, tonight… thank you, truly.”
“You’re welcome.”
Woodrow seemed to raise his hand, but then quietly let it fall.
“Go on inside. I’ll leave after you go in.”

“Alright…”
Kaneeta said goodbye to him and turned to walk into the
residence.
Just as the gate was about to close, she wanted to look back at
him, but in the end, she didn’t.

Edmund had been feeling unwell, so he asked Felix to take him
to the hospital.
Fortunately, the doctor said it was just a superficial injury,
nothing serious–a few days‘ rest would do.
But a dull pain still throbbed in his chest from time to time, and
Edmund’s face looked extremely grim.
“Hey, Ed, what exactly happened between you two?” Felix sat
beside him. Although he noticed Edmund’s dark expression, he
couldn’t help gossiping. “Who was that guy? Don’t tell me he
likes your wife? And the way your wife treated you…”
“Shut up.” Edmund’s face grew even darker.
“I’m just trying to help, man.” Felix grinned. “From the look of
you, you haven’t gotten over her yet. You’d better hurry up and

win her back! I think she can’t bear to leave you just like that.
You know how much you mean to her, right?”
These words did make Edmund feel a little better.
“That guy’s got guts, daring to covet my Ed’s woman. Ed, want
me to teach him a lesson for you?”
The
Edmund glanced at him and suddenly asked with a half–smile,
“Do you know who he is?”
Felix was taken aback. “Who? He does look familiar, but I can’t
remember”
“Woodrow.”
“Hartwell…”
Felix’s expression changed.
Woodrow–it was actually Woodrow Hartwell!
He was the heir to Roseburn! How could he be here? And how
was he involved with Kaneeta?
Most importantly, tonight he had actually shouted at
Woodrow!
If Woodrow bore a grudge, then he–and the entire Corbin

family–would probably be finished!
