Chapter 4
The man and one of the women scrambled for their clothes, desperate to cover their bare bodies.
But the third woman, long black hair veiling her face, remained utterly unbothered.
Even under the gaze of so many, she reached out with a sultry smile and hooked her fingers around the other woman’s waist.
“Honey… touch me again… right there…”
Gasps exploded around them.
The crowd stood gaping, stunned into silence.
The royal guards–young, red–blooded men
Never had they witnessed such depravity.
“Kill them all!”
Maryanne shrieked.
But the guards didn’t move.
–
-fumbled awkwardly, unsure where to look or how to respond.
As disgraceful as Leopold’s behavior was, he was still Chancellor–only the King had authority to execute him.
They dared not act without orders.
Maryanne’s face flushed crimson in rage.
Tomorrow, the court would surely accuse her of failing to manage her own household.
All because of these shameless wretches!
With her daughter Sophia’s wedding fast approaching, this scandal could ruin everything.
Driven mad with fury, she snatched a guard’s sword and charged toward the veiled woman, blade raised high.
“Stop! You can’t kill her!”
Leopold, still stark naked, stumbled forward, wrapping the woman in his arms.
“Maryanne, please–stay your hand!”
Gone was the dignified Chancellor. His voice trembled, panic painted across his once–genteel face.
“I–I can explain…”
Maryanne kicked him aside, her sword poised at his throat.
“Explain? You brought this filth into my manor and dare speak of explanations? I’ll have you torn limb from limb!”
The woman in his arms shuddered violently, her hands shaking as she tried to cover her face with a muddy, torn rag
Leopold, still exposed, stammered helplessly.
His gaze suddenly flicked to the woman still silent on the ground.
“Alice! Say something–tell Princess Maryanne the truth!”
But the woman didn’t move. She bowed her head lower, trembling, speechless.
“Alice? Isn’t that Charlotte’s personal maid?”
At the sound of her name, all eyes turned to me.

“Charlotte! I’ll kill you!”
Maryanne spun toward me, eyes bloodshot.
“You brought this harlot into my home? How dare you!”
She swung her sword at me. I barely dodged.
I cried out, tears rolling down my cheeks.
“Princess Maryanne, please–I did it for you! I swear! Don’t press this matter further!”
“For me?” she spat. “You filthy little bitch–you’ve ruined me!”
“I’ll go straight to the King–I’ll have justice!”
“Please, Your Grace… let it go, I beg you! Spare them a little dignity, at least.”
Leopold, hearing me plead on his behalf, finally broke down.
Maryanne turned and kicked him flat on his back, driving her heel into his face.
“You pathetic scum.”
Even then, Leopold clung tightly to the woman in his arms.
“Even now you protect this depraved creature–this man–hungry slut?”
General Courcy, unable to stomach it any longer, stepped forward with a furious glare.
“She’s disgusting! Who knows what filth she’s carrying–no man will marry her, and yet you treat her like treasure!”
Maryanne lunged forward and ripped the rag from the veiled woman’s face.
“Let everyone see who the whore really is!”
“No! Please, don’t-!”
The woman sobbed and struggled, but was yanked backward by her hair, her face exposed to all.
Silence.
All eyes turned to the now–revealed face.
Red kiss marks covered her body. Her face flushed, eyes half–lidded, lips parted with lingering lust.
She looked… insatiable.
And she was unmistakable.
Princess Sophia.
The only daughter of Maryanne.
The betrothed of General Lucian Courcy.
