After being pushed down the stairs countless times, Ariana was so desperate that her heart felt like dead ashes, and she completely passed out.
In the last moment of passing out, she realized belatedly that Shawn was a complete lunatic!
He never had any feelings for her from beginning to end. It was her own foolishness to mistake his concern for Brielle as concern for herself.

After spending an unknown number of days recuperating in the hospital, Ariana’s body finally began to recover.
Shawn’s bodyguard, however, stayed by her side without an inch of care, only watching her pain with cold eyes.

Ariana sat on the hospital bed in a daze, her whole body thin and withered, her face waxen and pale, devoid of any color.

Before she could recover, the nurse came in and handed a stack of payment receipts to her.
“Ms. Cauley, these are all the expenses for your hospital stay during this period of time. Please take a look and sign for payment if everything is okay.”
Ariana kept flipping through those bills, feeling like she was in the dark again.
Countless projects of all kinds added up to almost a million.
She didn’t understand, so she frowned and questioned the nurse, “I only stayed in the hospital for a few months, re- covering from my injuries. How could I have spent so much money?”
“Oh, these are the comprehensive fees for staying in a single room, receiving care from nurses, and eating high-quali- ty nutritious meals, no problem.”
The nurse explained calmly, adding, “These were all arranged by Mr. Adelson for you. He didn’t pay for them, saying this is also one of your punishments.”
Ariana’s face was pale, her heart was extremely frustrated, but she was helpless.

Shawn cherished each photo as he looked through them, his lips curling slightly upwards, but the smile he forced out was even uglier than a cry.
“Hannah, I miss you. Without you by my side, there’s no one to argue with me. It’s really boring.”
