He looked around the room, his voice dangerously calm.
“So tell me–should I hold the Martins accountable for this, or the Bennetts?”
As soon as the words left his mouth, he raised his foot and pressed it down right on Gabriel’s open wound.
The room was filled with Gabriel’s tortured cries,
“M–Mr. Drake–please…”
Violet flinched at the sound, her brows furrowed. She tugged at Xavier’s sleeve.

Xavier let out a quiet “Mm” and retracted his foot, glancing down at Gabriel with contempt.
Meanwhile, Ruby stood there frozen.
She’d gone after Gabriel to climb higher, to live a better life. And now Violet had turned around and found someone even more powerful?

Alexander added, putting on his stern fatherly voice, “Violet, apologize to Mr. Drake right now! Are you trying to bring down the entire Martins?”
In his eyes, Violet had clearly manipulated Xavier’s feelings. Now that the truth was out, she needed to apologize before things got worse.
But the chill in Xavier ‘s aura only deepened. He lowered his gaze to his fiancée and murmured, “So this is your family.”
