Chapter 210
D
Third Person’s POV
Enraged, Denton stormed into Melanie’s apartment.”
She was lounging on the couch, watching TV with a face mask on, completely relaxed. But the moment she saw his enraged face, a flicker of panic crossed her eyes, too quick for most to notice.
“Denton? Wh–what are you doing here?”
He didn’t answer. He marched over, grabbed her wrist, and flung her onto the sofa with such force she bounced against the
cushions.
“Where’s the money?! The three hundred million, where did it go?!” he roared, his voice shaking with fury and disbelief. “What the hell did you do with it?!“}
Melanie immediately slipped into her well–practiced act, tears, trembling lips, and the look of a betrayed saint.”
“Denton… what are you talking about?” she sniffled, her eyes already glistening. “How can you even say that? I’m carrying your child! I’m a mother now. Of course, I want to make sure our baby has everything. I used the money to buy properties around the world for our child’s future, and set up a health fund and an education trust. Do you think I was just out spending it all on myself?”
Her words wavered, as if every sentence cost her another piece of dignity.
Denton looked at her, torn. She sounded so sincere, and when she mentioned the baby, his resolve wavered. He had already lost Mick; he didn’t want to hurt another child. Not again.”
“Are you telling the truth?” he asked, voice slightly softer, though doubt still clouded his eyes.”
“Of course it’s true!” she cried, her expression full of emotion. “I have nothing left except you. After everything we’ve been through, do you really think I’d lie to you?“”
His mind teetered on the edge. The old him would’ve given in by now, as he used to fall for her tears without hesitation.
But too much had happened. His trust in everything and everyone had shattered.”
Especially after Mick’s death.
If Melanie hadn’t kept whispering poison in his ear, convincing him that Mick might not be his son, he never would’ve turned so cold toward the boy.”
That night, back in his empty bedroom, he couldn’t sleep. He kept tossing and turning until finally, he picked up his phone and called the one person he still trusted, his assistant.”
“I need you to investigate every single transaction Melanie had made in my account. I want the full report. No matter what it
shows.”
When the report landed on his desk, the truth hit him like a freight train.
Every dollar of the $30
$300 million had been traced, and not a single transaction matched the “real estate,” “trust funds,” or “education trust” she claimed.”
Most of it had been transferred into multiple anonymous accounts via the dark web, while the rest was spent on luxury goods, jewelry, designer clothes, and memberships to exclusive private clubs, &
But that wasn’t even the worst of it.”
Attached to the report were records of her payments to online troll farms, fake accounts, and bots hired to smear Sadie’s name, spread lies, and flood the internet with fabricated rumors.
There were also screenshots of chat logs and direct transfers listed in it.”
It turned out his “pure, innocent first love” had been deceiving him from the start, manipulating him, using him, dragging him deeper and deeper into ruin.\
Denton slumped into his chair, clutching his throbbing head.
He felt like a complete fool, a puppet twisted around a woman’s finger.
He then began reexamining everything he thought he knew about her.”
Years ago, after she went abroad to study, they had lost contact.”
Then, three years ago, she reappeared, fragile, broke, saying life had been hard overseas. So, he gave her money now and then, thinking he was helping.
Then she came back for good three months ago.
And in that short span of time, his life had completely unraveled. He lost his trust in Sadie, turned into a monster to his own child, and eventually lost Mick forever.”
The more he thought about it, the more his skin crawled.
She was a devil in disguise, a carefully packaged lie, a snake dressed in white.

After that reevaluation, he finally made up his mind. He would uncover everything about Melanie.
But when he did, the truth turned out to be filthier, darker, and more twisted than he ever imagined.
Uncovering all that, he was resolved that he would make her pay for all of it. Every single thing she did.”
