Chapter 100

Third Person’s POV

You actually dared. You actually dared to send me divorce papers, Sadie, huh?Denton thought, fuming.”

Fine. Very good,” he growled through clenched teeth. He snatched his car keys and stormed out the door

Then he drove straight to the towering headquarters of the Northern Star Trading Group

The skyscraper soared a hundred stories high, all cold steel and reflective glass gleaming under the sun, mocking him, as if laughing at how small and powerless he really was. He barged into the lobby, completely ignoring the front desk’s attempts to stop him, and made a beeline for the CEO’s office

I want to see your president! I want to see Roderick Middleton!he shouted, voice filled with fury

Right then, the elevator doors opened. Roderick stepped out, wearing a sharp, dark suit that clung perfectly to his tall frame. Calm, composed, and radiating pressure with every step, he looked every bit the powerful man he was./

Seeing Denton, he didn’t even flinch. In fact, he even offered a slight smirk

Mr. Francis, what are you doing here? Throwing a tantrum in my building?he said coolly.”

Denton’s face turned red with rage. He pointed at him, practically shaking. Cut the act! You’re hiding my wife and now you’ve got her sending me divorce papers? What the hell are you trying to pull?!”

Roderick didn’t flinch. He casually brushed imaginary dust off his jacket and raised an eyebrow

Mr. Francis, watch your mouth. First of all, Sadie is not your wife. She’s my niece, a Middleton. Second, the divorce papers were written and signed by her. If you have issues with it, take it up with your lawyer. Don’t come here barking like a rabid dog.”

You-!Denton was trembling with anger as his pride, everything he had built, his power, his image, was being stomped on.What?Roderick stepped forward and looked down at him, his tone cold and commanding. Let me make this clear. Sadie is the treasure of our family. Every single thing you did to her, we’ll make you pay for it, one by one. And as for you, I suggest you sign those divorce papers nicely. Or else”

He didn’t finish the sentence. He didn’t have to. The look in his eyes already sent a chill down Denton’s spine

Just then, the elevator opened again. A figure stepped out, holding a thermos in her hand

Sadie’s POV

I wore a white cashmere coat. I was still a little pale, but my eyes were calm, clearer, and stronger than ever before. Uncle, I made you some soup,” I said as I walked past Denton like he was invisible and handed the thermos to Uncle. Sadie, what are you doing here?Uncle asked, taking the soup with concern written all over his face. Didn’t the doctor tell you to rest?

I smiled faintly. I’m okay now. I just wanted to see you.”

Sadie! Stop right there!Denton charged toward me and grabbed my wrist.

Let go of me!I yanked my hand free with a sharp glare, disgust written all over my face

Come home with me!he barked, gripping my shoulder tightly. You think hiding here means you can escape me? I’m telling you, it’s not happening!”

Escape?I said coldly, locking eyes with him. I’m not running away. I’ve come home. And like I told you, we’re over.

We’re not over! I’m not divorcing you!Denton’s eyes were bloodshot as he roared like a madman

Let go of her!Uncle snapped. In a flash, several bodyguards rushed forward and slammed Denton to the floor

You think just because someone’s backing you now, you can do whatever you want?!Denton thrashed against the ground, roaring like a man possessed. I won’t let you go! You hear me?!”

Yet I ignored him completely and gave Uncle a look. He nodded, then waved his hand

With that simple gesture, the bodyguards dragged Denton out of the building like a stray mutt.N

Third Person’s POV

Back at home, Denton lay on his couch, his eyes empty

The humiliation he suffered today, the way he was stepped on, tossed out like garbage, was something he couldn’t swallow. Denton, are you alright?Melanie asked gently as she curled up beside him, her fingers tracing light circles on his chest. Don’t be mad over that crazy woman. She’s not worth it.

“What do you know?he snapped, pushing her away

But Melanie didn’t flinch. She straightened herself and leaned closer, her voice soft and sweet in his ear.N

Oh, I do understand. That crazy woman’s just using her family’s background to act like she’s untouchable. But don’t worry, Denton, I have a way to help you get back at her.”
