The Omega noticed my thoughtful expression and added softly:
“Our Alpha has been… different lately. More hopeful. The pack elders say they haven’t seen him this way in years.”
Before I could think more about it, I saw our car being blocked ahead.
A vehicle had swerved directly into our path, forcing our driver to brake hard. The sudden stop threw us forward in our seats.
“Let the she-wolf in the car come out! She’s my mate! You can’t take her from my Red Stone pack!”
I looked forward and saw a male wolf blocking our car with his vehicle. He stood in front of our car, his posture aggressive and desperate.
Though he was handsome, I inexplicably disliked him. Something about his presence made my skin crawl.
Besides, I didn’t even know him. How could I possibly be his mate?
The male wolf saw me and rushed to my window, his eyes blood-red, his voice trembling violently.
“Aria, come back with me! I’m Damon, your fiancé!”
He pressed his palms against the glass, his face wild with desperation.
“I know I was wrong. I shouldn’t have made you drink the memory potion. I really regret it.”
Memory potion – was that the forbidden magic?
Though his eyes showed genuine emotion, I felt no familiarity whatsoever. If anything, his presence made me uncomfortable.
“Why did you make me drink the memory potion? Was it for my own good?”
My voice was calm, almost clinical.
“Even without memories, I know what the memory potion is. Since I knew and still drank it, that means you weren’t worth
remembering.”
Pain immediately flashed in the man’s eyes, so intense it was almost physical.
“We’ve known each other since childhood, loved each other for over ten years. Don’t you remember any of it? We promised to be together forever.”
His voice cracked with emotion.
“Just come back with me. I’ll use every means possible to help you remember. I’ll never change my heart again. I’ll spend my lifetime making it up to you, okay?”
As he got closer and closer, his desperation becoming more aggressive, suddenly a white-clothed male wolf rushed over, pushed him away, and stood in front of my car.
The Omega maid gaped, stunned for a long while.
“Alpha? Wasn’t he supposed to be waiting for us at Dark Moon pack?”
I was also slightly surprised. The timing seemed too convenient to be coincidental.
Why had Kane come personally?
He had his back to me, so I couldn’t see his face clearly. I only knew he was tall and upright like a pine tree.
Dressed in white with black hair, standing before the car with impressive dominance.
“She’s already my mate. The Alpha Council has approved it. How dare you touch her?!”
Kane’s voice was cold and authoritative, carrying the unmistakable power of a true Alpha.
“You didn’t grasp your chance. Now you come here playing the victim – who gave you such audacity?!”
The man’s eyes burned with fury, seeming extremely angry.
“What do you understand? Aria and I have been together for over ten years. She just temporarily forgot. You’re the third party!”
“No matter what, I’m taking her back today!”
Kane laughed coldly, the sound sharp and mocking.
“Loved each other for over ten years?”
“If you loved each other so much, why has she forgotten you now? Why did you make her drink the memory potion to go hold a ceremony with another wolf?”
Each word was delivered like a calculated blow.

“A girl this wonderful – you’re not worthy of trampling her sincere heart, much less worthy of begging her to return!”
The man’s face went deathly pale, shock flashing in his eyes.
“You… how do you know?”
Kane turned his head, and I finally saw his face clearly.
He was indeed as the rumors said – devastatingly beautiful. Tender emotions swirled in his bright eyes as he looked at me, speaking word by word:
“Damon, the person you didn’t treasure, I will definitely hold carefully in my hands like a precious treasure, never letting you hurt her even the slightest bit again.”
His voice was soft when he spoke to me, but hard as steel when he addressed my attacker.
“Guards, drive him away.”
A large group of Gammas quickly emerged from hidden positions. Though Damon was also an Alpha, he was alone and
outnumbered.
He was soon blocked at the perimeter, watching me with blood-red, scattered gaze and a hoarse voice:
“Aria, wait for me.”
“I will definitely come find you again, even if it costs me my life!”
The next second, Kane got into the car and placed his hand over my eyes.
“Don’t look.”
