Chapter 5
“It’s a misunderstanding! That woman told us to cause trouble!”
Seeing the police about to make arrests, the troublemakers panicked and pointed at Quinn.
Officers immediately restrained Quinn to take her away.
She screamed, throwing herself into Caspian’s arms: “Dr. Williams, they’re lying! Say something for me!”
But Caspian shoved her away, stumbling toward me and gripping my wrists tightly.
“What are you talking about! What divorce! I was just trying to scare you! We never processed the paperwork!”
Unable to contain my hatred, I slapped him hard.
This was my first time striking him.
Even when I hated him most, I’d only hung up the phone with dignity, never losing control like this.
His eyes filled with disbelief.
“Scare me?” I laughed coldly, almost screaming, “Caspian Williams, I’m the one who wants to divorce you, you bastard!”
‘When I received the divorce papers you sent, I thanked you for the first time for being so heartless-I didn’t have to waste effort cutting garbage like you from my life!”
‘Impossible! You’ve lost your mind! You’re delusional, talking nonsense! Even if you signed divorce papers, there’s still a month cooling-off period!”
He panicked, forcing a smile at the corners of his mouth, trying to pull me into his arms.
It’s my fault-I was just angry with you, that’s why I acted this way. Stop talking nonsense, okay? I was wrong. Luna. I’m apologizing, isn’t that enough?”
I shoved him away and slapped his other cheek.
‘Caspian Williams, you underestimate my abilities. I had the money to make you a famous doctor-naturally I have ways to divorce you immediately!”
I pulled out the divorce certificate I’d already had someone collect and threw it in his face.
Open your damn eyes and look-this is the result you dreamed of preventing!”
Caspian stared blankly at the certificate on the ground, too afraid to pick it up.
He kept reaching for me.
“You must be lying… don’t you love me so much? How could you bear to divorce me?”
“Luna, I’ll explain everything. I really didn’t wrong you or the children…”
“The children… I said I’d spend their birthday with you today. For their sake, let’s forget about today, okay? Let’s quietly accompany them, okay?”
I looked at him, my eyes bloodshot.
My lips curved into a vicious smile.
“Children? You dare mention the children?”
“My two children were personally killed by you and that whore.”
“Now even their final ashes have been trampled underfoot and scattered by the thugs you brought-completely gone!”
“You belong in the hell, haunted night after night by their souls demanding your life!”
“You’re unfit to be a father, unfit to be a doctor, unfit to be human!”
