“Raven, why are you crying?”
Declan appeared, taking my hand with fake concern.
“Raven, I know you’re still grieving for our baby. I’m her father too-it hurts me just as much. If I could trade places with her, I would.”
“But we have to move forward. You haven’t been eating, you’re skin and bones. You’re killing me here. Let me go grab some supplements to help you recover.”
If I hadn’t heard those words, I might’ve been touched.
But behind these sweet lies was the hell he’d planned for me.

I dragged my broken body to the living room.
In his rush to see his lover, he’d left behind a phone I’d never seen before.
After all these years of marriage, I never knew Declan had a second phone.
And the password was Vanessa’s birthday.
