Chapter 24 Grant Your Wish
Felton was dazed for a moment before calming down quickly.
”
Amid Raquel’s crying, he made up his mind. Since he and
Anastasia were through, he should cut all ties with Anastasia
and treat Raquel wholeheartedly. To do that, he should tolerate
Raquel’s flaws, such as her tendency to cry.
He reached out to stroke her head and coaxed her patiently, his
jaw tensed, “Why are you still crying?”
“I’m scared…” Raquel sobbed like a frightened animal, almost
choking.
“The police called me and said I’m a suspect in trying to kill Ms. Carney. What should I do?”
Felton still felt dizzy from the watermelon attack, but he still
forced himself to sit up and comfort her.
“It’s fine. Anastasia is behind it. If the police call you again, I’ll
answer it.”
Sure enough, Raquel stopped crying and looked at him through
tears. “Felton, you have to believe me. I’ve never wanted to
harm Ms. Carney.“”

Feeling exhausted all over, Felton still hugged her, coaxing, “Of
course, I believe you. I know she’s trying to frame you.”
As he said this, Anastasia’s face emerged in his mind.
Anastasia had always looked after him in silence. She was so
stubborn and enduring, always swallowing whatever
grievances she suffered and facing him with a bright smile
when meeting his inquiring gaze.
He used to despise her, thinking that she was putting on an act
and was up to something.
Yet now, he found himself missing those days with her.
Just then, the room door was pushed open, and Wendell walked
in with a bunch of police officers.
“Ms. Fletcher, several suspects have confessed. They said you
hired them to attack Ms. Carney.”
Frowning, Raquel looked at Felton nervously.
He took her hand and reassured her, “Chill. I’ll go with you to
take the statement.
Then he looked at Wendell. Though he was lying in bed, his
presence was as intimidating as always.

“You wanna take Raquel away just because of some thugs‘ words? Do you think I know nothing about the law? Or do you
think you’re above the law?”
Suppressing his great discomfort, he accompanied Raquel while
she gave her statement. During this time, she passed out several
times as if utterly terrified. After getting out of the police
station, he forcibly took her to the hospital.
After he settled her in, he walked out and happened to hear
Anastasia and Hobert’s voices.

“I told you I’m fine. Why do I have to go to the hospital?”
Anastasia sounded impatient.
Hearing this, Felton instinctively looked over.

Grabbing her arm, Hobert coaxed her gently, “I still think you
need an X–ray. After all, you fought with those thugs. What if
you got hurt and didn’t realize it?”
“Fine,” she agreed reluctantly.
She sat up after the scan. Hobert had gone to the stairwell to
take a call, and the nurse was nowhere to be seen.
She put on her shoes and was about to push the door to walk
out.

Suddenly, someone pushed her back into the room.
Caught off guard, she stumbled back a few times and plopped
down onto the bed.
“How dare you!”

Looking up, she was stunned to see Felton walk in with rage, his eyes bloodshot.
Frowning, she asked in confusion, “What’s gotten into you this
time?”
“Isn’t this what you want? You’ve been playing hard to get,
haunting me, and targeting Raquel again and again. You wanna
get back together with me, right? I might as well grant your
wish!”

With that, he lunged at her like an enraged beast, pressed her to
the bed, and kissed her fiercely.
“You’re crazy…”
She couldn’t even breathe and tried to wave her hands and
struggle, but he held her down firmly.
