Chapter 16 Return the Favor
After the man in the lead said so, the group of men lunged at
Anastasia.
Her gaze was icy as she attacked whoever came close with her
high heels. Soon, nearly ten thugs were all knocked to the
ground.
She gripped the leader’s arm with great force, leaving him
immobilizing. Then she snapped, her gaze horrifying, “Speak!
Who sent you here?”

“I … don’t know. I followed orders… That’s all.”
The man in the lead winced in pain, finding it hard to believe a
woman could be this good at fighting.
And she was so strong–he couldn’t move at all and felt she’d
break his arm in any second.
Anastasia dialed the police and deliberately flashed her phone
in front of him. “Be smart. You wanna go to jail? Or tell me the
truth?”

The thug’s legs gave way instantly as he pleaded, “I–It’s someone
named Ms. Fletcher..”

“Raquel?” A cold glint flashed across Anastasia’s eyes.
She let go of him.
Then she called Wendell Holland, the chief of the police
department. “There’s an attempted assault in the underground
parking lot of Riverside Heights Tower A. Chief Holland, it’d be
appreciated if you could send some police over here.
“But I gotta say–you need to work on the security of your
district.”
She hung up after saying this, not giving Wendell any chance to
react.
Wendell stared at his phone in a daze for a while before
searching for her number on his computer. Immediately, he
panicked, thinking, “Who the heck is so bold as to hurt her?!”
He sprang to his feet and headed to Riverside Heights with his
men at once.
Anastasia informed Hobert after calling Wendell.
She then went back home, sat down, turned on her computer,
and typed in a string of code quickly. Within two minutes,
Raquel’s number was on the screen.

With an icy gaze, Anastasia tapped the keyboard with force, as
if trying to vent her anger.
Meanwhile, Raquel clutched her phone tightly while biting her
lips and pacing back and forth in her room. She was obviously
preoccupied.
Suddenly, her phone rang. Seeing an unknown number
flickering on the screen, she thought the thugs had nailed it and
answered with a grin.
“Hello? Did you get her?”
“Get her? Come on, Raquel,” Anastasia smiled mockingly. “You
really think those losers can hurt me? You’ve been trying to
mess with me. I guess I’ll have no choice but to return the favor.
Otherwise, all your effort will be wasted.”
Raquel instantly became nervous. “What do you wanna do,
Anastasia?
“Hello? Anastasia? Anastasia!”
Staring at the dimmed phone screen, Raquel gripped her phone
even more tightly as panic set in.
Soon, her phone buzzed. Upon seeing the newest tabloid report, she staggered back a few times, trembling in anger.

“Shocking news! Raquel Fletcher is exposed as the Fletcher
family’s illegitimate daughter who was kicked out a few years
ago.
“She went abroad after Mr. Gutierrez’s horrific car accident left
him paraplegia.
“And now, she comes back, only to drive away Mrs. Gutierrez
and to be with him again!”
The popularity of the report rose rapidly, and it topped the
trending topic list in no time.
Within a minute, there were more than 100,000 comments.
Raquel pulled a long face as she scrolled through the comments.
