Chapter 12 Watch Your Mouth
Hearing Felton’s sarcastic voice, Anastasia leaned backward and crossed her slender legs, looking lazy and elegant.
Arching an eyebrow, she looked at him and teased, “It’s so hard to get over me, huh?”
“You think too much.” Felton frowned, his expression changing subtly. Then he picked up the coffee and took a sip.
“Oh?” She shifted her posture, staring at him while propping her slender fingers against her forehead. “You baffle me, Mr. Gutierrez.
“What else could it be?”
Every movement she made was nothing but charming.
Looking at her, Felton suddenly felt some inexplicable feelings flashing across his heart and was uneasy suddenly.
He lowered his eyes, not wanting her to notice any change in his expression.
Then he said, “Stop flattering yourself, Anastasia. After years, I’m sure you know pretty well that I don’t have feelings for you at all.”
Anastasia was slightly stunned.
She no longer loved him, but her heart still ached whenever she thought about their past.
She regretted it so much—why did she waste so many years on such a jerk? He simply wasn’t worth it.
Soon, she shot back with a sneer, “You’re right. I know that better than anyone, which is why I find you so pathetic, trying everything just to see me.”
She said this word by word, her eyes tinged with disgust and contempt.
Felton couldn’t help but tighten his grip on the cup, his gaze laced with rage. Just as he was about to say something, her phone rang.
He swallowed back the words he wanted to say.
Meanwhile, Anastasia took out her phone and saw Hobert’s name flashing on the screen. She smiled, the iciness on her face vanishing in a split second.
“Hello?”
“Your Highness, I’m here to pick you up for lunch.”
She couldn’t help but chuckle.
A trace of shyness flashed across her delicate face as she said, “Sure. I’m at Messika Café.”
“I’ll be there in five.”
“Alright.”
Felton heard Hobert’s doting words loud and clear. He pulled a long face, and even the air around him was freezing.
“Anastasia, impressive. I had no idea you were such a slut.
“Do tell—what tricks did you pull to get in bed with Mr. Carney?”
His tone was icy, mixed with a trace of jealousy that he wasn’t aware of.
Anastasia was furious.
She might be able to endure being insulted once or twice, but that was it.
“Watch your mouth, Felton. We’re divorced. I can sleep with whoever I want, and you don’t get to judge me at all.
“Aren’t you the one who proposed a divorce? The second your unforgettable love came back, you dumped your wife. You’re the impressive one!”
Felton’s expression darkened to the utmost, and even a murderous intent flickered in his bloodshot eyes.
But she didn’t care. When spotting the familiar car outside the door, she picked up her handbag and walked out without looking back.
Felton’s face turned livid with fury as he saw Anastasia smile at the driver before getting into the passenger seat.
As Hobert drove away, his gaze inadvertently fell upon Felton, who was standing inside, and he frowned.
