Chapter 1
The first thing I did after being reborn was plant a bug on my boyfriend.
In my past life, my sister–in–law Rachel invited me out for drinks the night before my brother came back from a business trip. She said, “Let’s have one last wild night before reality hits again.”
But when I arrived at the bar, she was in tears, claiming I’d arranged for someone to assault her.
And the alleged assailant? My boyfriend, Ethan Brooks.
I tried to explain, but Ethan cut me off in front of everyone, saying I’d threatened to kill myself if he didn’t go along with it. He said I was jealous of Rachel because my brother only ever cared about her.
Everyone turned on me.
I was treated like filth, thrown into jail, and eventually died there, broken and depressed.
only a
after I died did I learn the truth it had all been a trap–carefully set up by Rachel and Ethan. They had been lovers long before she married my brother. I was nothing more than a pawn in their plan
And then, I opened my eyes–back on the day Rachel had asked me to meet her at the bar.
I had just stepped out of the shower, about to go to bed, when my phone rang.
It was Rachel’s voice on the other end.
“Charlie, Michael’s coining back tomorrow. Please, come out with me for one last crazy night. Once he’s back, it’s going to be impossible to have fun again.”
The moment I heard her voice, I knew without a doubt I’d been reborn.
In my last life, Rachel had asked me to meet her at the bar just like this. But when I got there, she was nowhere to be found.
I called her. She told me to wait for her in one of the VIP rooms.
I waited for ages. She never showed up. Worried something might have happened, I kept calling over and over.
Just as I was about to call the polline, she walked in–with my parents and my brother, who’d apparently returned early.
Tears in her eyes, she p pointed at me and sobbed to Michael, “She did it, honey. Charlie had Ethan assault me to force us to divorce!” Before I could even get a word out, Michael–my loving, protective brother kicked me in the stomach. My parents immediately called
the cops.
The police arrived quickly. I tried to explain.
r one who invited me to the bar. We never even saw each other tonight–how could I have set her up? Ethan and I haven’t eveti semi rachother in nearly a week. How could we possibly have conspired to do something so vile?”
But I never expected that the person I trusted the most would stab me in the back.
Dhan dropped to his knees in front of Rachel, his voice shaking
“I’m sorry, Rachel Charlie forced me to do it. She said she’d kill herself if didn’t go along I didn’t have a choice…”
His words made by defense sound completely hollow.

scandal spread like wildfire Reporters swarmed the courthouse, eager to cover the sensational story of the twisted sister

The court hearings went public. Rachel wept pitifully on camera.
“I was pregnant. Michael and I were going to have a baby. But because of Charlie’s scheme, I was raped and lost the child. The doctors said I might never be able to conceive again.”
The internet exploded. I was doxxed, insulted, humiliated. Everyone saw me as the villain.
In prison, with Michael pulling strings behind the scenes, I was beaten within an inch of my life.
I couldn’t stop obsessing over what really happened between Ethan and Rachel
Eventually, I lost the will to eat. The will to speak. The will to live.
Little by little, I faded away–until there was nothing left of me but silence.
It was only after my death that I finally learned the truth.
Rachel and Ethan had once been each other’s first loves. After they broke up, they thought they’d never see each other again
But fate brought them back together. And when the sparks reignited, they didn’t hesitate to devise a cruel plan.
After my death, they took over everything. My parents died from heartbreak Michael died in a car crash on his way to work
All of the Evans family estate the money, the properties, everything–fell into the hands of those two monsters.
But this time… I’m not going to let any of that happen again.
