exander hadn’t tried to talk to her, so she couldn’t just kick him out directly. She had to let it slide.

That night, Sophia noticed they were out of groceries at home, so she went to the supermarket to buy some
The supermarket wasn’t exactly close to the B&B, but Sophia didn’t feel like calling an Uber, so she just wandered back on foot.
She didn’t expect to run into trouble on the way. Hallway home, she encountered a few drunk lowlifes.
Reeking of alcohol with sleazy grins, they surrounded her. “Hey shawty, what’s a girl like you doing out here all alone at night?”
Sophia frowned and said coldly, “Get lost!”
She’d never encountered anything like this in all her time here today was just bad luck
They showed no signs of backing down. Instead, they all started laughing and closed in tighter around her.
For the first time in a while, Sophia telt genuinely panicked. Just as she was about to fight for her life, someone suddenly yelled.
She turned to see Alexander twisting one of the drunk guys arms behind his back. Sophia froze.
The other guys, seeing he was alone, relaxed and moved to jump the guy who’d ruined their fun.
But
they were drunk after all, and despite outnumbering him, they were no match for Alexander. Eventually they all ran off.
Once those guys were gone, Alexander nervously grabbed Sophia’s shoulders, frantically asking, “Sophia, are you hurt anywhere? Did they touch you?”
Sophia shook her head faintly and gently pulled away from his hands. Only when he saw she was okay did Alexander breathe a sigh of
relief.
After the fight, Alexander inevitably got banged up too. A dark bruise on his face stood out starkly against his pale skin.
Noticing Sophia looking at the injury on his face, he immediately covered it and dramatically groaned in pain. Seeing his theatrical performance, Sophia rolled her eyes slightly.
Then she turned and walked away. Alexander paused, dropped his hand, and followed her.
He trailed her all the way reaching out to stop her.

living quarters at the B&B. As Sophia was about to open her door, Alexander finally couldn’t help
His voice carried a hint of grievance. “I haven’t eaten dinner yet. I’m staying…”
ilearing this, Sophia looked at him coldly, and he met her gaze without flinching, willing to try anything–even this desperate gambit
il there was even the slightest chance it might work.
Finally, Sophia went inside without saying a word, but she didn’t close the door.
Alexander knew this meant she was letting him in, and his heart soared with joy.
After he walked in, he made himself comfortable on the sofa, studying every corner of the room’s layout, not wanting detail.
As if this could help lam plece to

Her letting Alexander in wasn’t because she’d softened she wanted to use this opportunity to make him leave and stop hanging around here. It was pointless
After half antur, she brought out a bowl of noodles and set it on the dining table. Since she’d already eaten, this was specifically for Mewoder, which made his heart race uncontrollably shen he realized it.
He excitedly picked up the fork and grabbed a mouthful of noodles, shoving them in his mouth because it had been so long since he’d

tasted her cooking
Before, he wouldn’t let her cook, only occasionally when he was craving something would he ask her to Counting it up, it had been a whole year since he’d tasted her food.
Now eating these noodles, he was thrilled, thinking this was a sign she was softening.
But he had no idea this was actually a death row inmate’s last meal.
“After you finish this bowl, go back to Manhattan. You staying here won’t change anything.” Sophia said this casually.
Alexander’s chopsticks froze for a moment, then he acted like he hadn’t heard anything and continued shoving noodles in his mouth.
Seeing him like this, Sophia frowned. Just as she was about to say more, Alexander quickly interrupted her, “These noodles taste exactly the same as before. They haven’t changed.”
Without waiting for her response, he slurped down the last bite, took the bowl and fork to the kitchen, and washed them clean. Every time Sophia showed signs of speaking, Alexander would say something random to shut her up.
After he finished washing the dishes, he didn’t even look at Sophia before opening the door and walking out. “I, I’m leaving now. Thanks for making me noodles.”
After closing the door and walking just a few steps, Alexander couldn’t take it anymore. He stopped and leaned against the wall to keep himself from collapsing
He’d thought she was willing to accept his apology, but instead she’d dealt him such a crushing blow.
She’d told him flat out it was impossible, so like a coward, he kept interrupting her words telling him to leave, over and over again. Over the next few days, he didn’t obediently go back. He couldn’t just let go like that
Sophia completely ignored him, but lately she hadn’t seen him around at all, which made her think he might have actually gone back- not that she cared where he went, as long as he stopped bothering her.
But before she could breathe a sigh of relief, Alexander reappeared–and made it everyone’s business
It was Valentine’s Day, and the B&B was packed with visitors.
That’s when Alexander showed up, holding a huge bouquet of flowers, standing outside the shop entrance with a beaming smile as he looked at her.
Suddenly there were gasps from inside and outside the shop, and everyone qushed outside to look up at the sky.
“Oh my God, who is this Sophia? This is so romantic!”
