Kevin carried Rylee out of the fire and took her to the hospital first. After making sure she was fine, he sat there holding her and whispering comfort.
However, Rylee’s phone started buzzing like crazy.
She snatched it up, but the second she saw the screen, her face went pale. “How… How is this possible…”
Kevin grabbed the phone from her. Right there on the trending page, the top headline read, “Kevin Molloy Abandoned His Injured Girlfriend.”
He clicked on it, and it was a video that netizens had stitched together.
On the left, he was crying and thanking his darling Aubree when he won an award. On the right, he was dragging Rylee away at the press conference, not sparing Aubree a glance.
The last few seconds overlapped both scenes. The comments were blowing up.
“So guarding her means throwing her into a fire?”
“Wow, what amazing acting skills. I actually pitied his mute girlfriend…”
“Rylee’s a homewrecker!”
Kevin clenched his fist so tightly that the wine glass shattered in his hand, shards scattering across the carpet. Then, he snatched up his phone and barked into it.
“Delete that trending post! Right now!”

The person on the other end stuttered, “Mr. Molloy, Twitter said this time the order came from higher up…”
Kevin felt a sharp throb in his temples. He then looked at his messages and saw hundreds of unread ones.
The latest one was from Claude Sheridan, a senior executive at Twitter. “I can’t help you this time. The Tully family’s heir stepped in himself.”
The Tully family? Jeremy Tully?
Kevin clenched his teeth.
Right then, Rylee screamed and shoved her phone in his face. “They found our Maldives photos too!”
On the screen were pictures of the two of them last summer.
She was in a bikini while he was holding her tightly and kissing her on a yacht. In the corner, one could even see the so–called “script” they would
use as an excuse.
He had lost count of how many times he had used the “script reading” lie to sneak out with her.
Rylee’s nails dug into his arm. “Didn’t you say you bought all these photos already?!”
Kevin shoved her off him and swiped through his phone furiously.
Seven of the top ten trending searches were all about him.
